The valleys on the eastern side of the peak are home to some of the many small camps that are scattered throughout the Ranch. Nicely kept up. A good workout climbing the steps of the dune on the east side. The walk down (and back up) in the west side is a much gentler slope on the sand, but it is still a dune so it isn't particularly easy. Great views and with the effort.

A decommissioned radar ball sits atop this landmark dune. Newly restored 300 plus step stairway invites visitors up dune's east face to a summit platform for unprecedented views of Saugatuck's village and harbor to the east, and famous Oval Beach and Lake Michigan to the west. Park also features picnic tables with grills, a covered picnic area, restrooms, and free parking, or, accessable on foot from downtown via historic pedestrian chain ferry - a 3 to 5 minute stroll. Small history museum nearby on riverfront.

Mount Baldhead is a great little park. You can take the stairs (300+) up to the top and then run down the dune to Oval Beach Park or you can meander through the trails at the top of the dunes. There are tons of wildlife (the deer are definitely used to humans) and great views from top of the stairs. Enjoy!

One of my favorite places to go for a quick day hike! My kids and I love to make a day out of climbing this "mountain". The stairs are fun, but the trail that runs to the north of the dune when you get to the top is where you really get the spectacular views. But be warned that once you get to the bottom of the dune, the climb back up can be a bit more challenging.
