Exploring the past, understanding the present, and inspiring a better future.

Story

Open until 8 pm Free First Thursdays!

Seattle is our place. We are constantly changing, moving as we do, growing as we build. True, the landscape is dotted with icons of our history; the Rainier R, the original Starbucks sign, the Lincoln Toe truck. But when you think of Seattle’s history, don’t just think about the past. Watch our future unfold. You are creating Seattle. Every word. Every idea. MOHAI is the epicenter of this growth. It’s the quintessential experience of what was built and where we’re going. MOHAI is a place to explore Seattle. As we grow, with all we create, speak, read, write and learn, history inspires more history. MOHAI is an inspiration of original thought, supported with hundreds of years of practice.

Love It! As a volunteer at another great Seattle Museum I took advantage of National Volunteer Appreciation Week and finally went to the MOHAI. Wow! Way beyond any expectations I had. This place is outstanding! It was very motivating. I love it and it satiated my craving for the history of my hometown in the most creative and mind blowing way. Go! Do it! I will continue to recommend it to everyone who comes to my info desk at SAM only now I will do it with even greater enthusiasm.

This place was incredible! We were told by friends that it "takes about 45 minutes to see it" but we were there for 4 hours and still hadn't seen everything before the place closed for the day! Very interesting history of the area and the city. The building is beautiful too! And in a great location. Was within walking distance from our hotel. We hope to make it back again some day to finish experiencing the rest of it. We had a great time! Perfect for the whole family! Definitely check this place out!

this place is fun for adults and kids alike. You could spends hours here and still not take in all the information. just the structure alone is amazing. check out the boats outside(floating museum). worth going back multiple times.

Really enjoy the spacious feel. This place is a Seattle time capsule and at the same time showcases current culture through presentations and workshops.

The remodeled museum is a nice improvement upon the old museum. The pictures of historic Seattle, the artifacts, and exhibit design are all worth the price of the ticket.
