The SAM is always a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or evening. It isn't the largest museum ever, but they do have quite a broad collection that would interest anyone who visits. Everything from ancient Aztec and Roman artifacts, to impressionist and modern/abstract paintings are set out to take you through a journey of historical events. They even offer tour guides to show you around and give you deeper insight into the artists/era/piece specifically. Fun fact: the first Thursday of the month is free admission!

What they're doing is cool (optional admission fee) but the layout and the exhibitions weren't very interesting at all. I didn't see the red tape in front of a piece of art and had my toe a bit over the line, and a woman was all "ma'am, please step away from the painting" which is fine, except she said it in a really rude voice, and my friend gave me a "jeez-this-woman-has-a-stick-up-her-butt" look. which was interesting. I feel like the rest of the employees were the classic Seattle Cold Shoulder type.

Amazing displays of pop culture. Really interesting and fun. Divided into sections so you can see your favourite parts first; Fantasy, Horror, etc.

Nice space between works. Big and bright rooms. Many different themes. Helpful personal. Worth a couple hours.

We went to SAM for special exhibit of Kehinde Wiley "A New Republic". It was well organized, really interesting, his works were amazing. Easy access to parking and from parking, it's a same building, and even after when museum close, you can use parking(open door with your card. I bought membership (dual membership, you can add another person), so for whole year you can visit 3 locations : SAM, Asian Art Museum and Olympic Sculpture Park for free.
