Great selection, but prices are high. I came in to buy something, left, and bought the same item elsewhere, still new, for a much lower price.

Took in an amp to be repaired. They outsource repairs but the work was done in about a week and the amp plays as good as it did 20 years ago. Also received a breakdown of work performed and i believe the cpst was reaspnable. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

I used to like this place, but for my needs, it's gone down the pooper.  First and foremost, I've been playing guitar for a while, and I hate changing strings.  Hate it.  When this was Colonial Music, they offered string changing for a reasonable fee ($10 + cost of strings), and it never took more than 40 minutes.  Well now they've changed their name to Music & Arts (though even when it was Colonial, they were owned by M&A) and have the gall to charge $15 + cost of strings.  $5 might not sound like much, but that's over the line between reasonable and outrageous.  On top of that, I was quoted that they're looking at a 2-3 day turnaround.  For string changing?!  Forget that BS.  It'll be worth the trip to take it to Music Go Round, who still change strings for $10 + cost and do it in under an hour.  Might sound like a minor quibble, but you can find lessons and gear cheaper elsewhere, so that's all I've ever needed this place for.  I'll never set foot in it again.

I walked into the store only to find my ex wife twerking on the while the manager threw guitar picks at her. But the thing that upset me, was i i I walked in a satanic ritual in the guitar section.
