A longtime fan of their bread, I was excited to try their sandwiches as I had imagined them to be fresh and delicious. Which they are. During lunch hours Nashoba Brook Bakery can get a little cramped as the inside area isn't large. Additionally, the line starts further into the restaurant which can be hard to discern if you are a first-timer. Especially when it is crowded and you see a bunch of people standing in line as soon as you walk in. However, it is worth the trouble. The crispiness and depth of the bread compliment the freshness of the fillings. The atmosphere is city-like but people respect each other's space and no one can be heard screaming to get a word to another. All-in-all, another home run food location for the town of Concord and a go-to lunch destination.

Love (while semantically speaking) is not an ingredient, but it's an intervening force which can and does affect perception, smell and taste. Take two loaves of bread; same ingredients and same equipment for the measuring, mixing and baking. When served, one baker tells his customer with a prideful smile, "I made this an hour ago, with loving attention to the knowledge that I have the privilege of feeding my patrons the best bread I can make, enjoy!" The other just says, "That will be $4.95, plus tax...wanna bag?" The man scowling his mood. Is it any surprise that the first customers are happier with their bread, even though they are exactly identical? Here, it is simply psychology. But on a spiritual level, it is well known that a person who takes their time and manufacture something with great care and attentiveness often produces a higher quality product. It's just common sense. I'm willing to drive a little further, and spend a little bit more, so that I can enjoy food that has been manufactured and prepared by people who actually care about what they're doing.

On any given week night, I see people come to order sandwiches for takeout or chilling on their many couches over a cup of coffee. Their bread is great but mostly I order their sandwiches. Staff is friendly and they make the orders quickly. You can also call the orders ahead but I don't bother because they usually make it quickly. When it's nice out, there outdoor seating and a bench looking out over the brook.

This is strictly a review of the sourdough bread. Very good taste and texture. I devour almost 1/2 loaf per day. HOWEVER, at 11% of the recommended Daily Value per slice, the sodium content is extremely and unnecessarily high. I would encourage the bakery to cut back 25% on the salt, which would improve the taste and bring the bread more into line with other breads.

Cool little place, tricky to find behind some buildings and not very obviously signage. Sitting outside is really nice during a warm morning, can get busy fairly quickly but seems to turn over fast. Definitely a nice place to stop for breakfast or lunch in the Concord area that won't break your wallet.
