This place is amazing. They help with food once a month and they help with your utility bills. They have people to help you find job and to help you build a good resume, plus help you get ready for an interview. This place needs help with volunteering, so if you have a free day please go help them out. I highly recommend this place if you need help with anything. It doesn't hurt to ask!!!

My daughter and I wanted to volunteer at the New Braunfels Food Bank. They said because they had a limited number of employees they could only take so many volunteers at a time. There was a waiting list for people who wanted to volunteer that was about 6 weeks out. I left there feeling disappointed. I wish they would take more volunteers at a time.

As a family advocate I refer families to the food bank often. Today I was able to see their beautiful new facility and learn about all of the wonderful programs they offer. The new Braunfels food bank is an asset to our community!

My husband and I spent a morning volunteering at the NB Food Bank and the experience was incredible. The process to register for volunteering, the sign in, and the brief orientation are all well-organized, efficient, and easy to use. Even so, the staff on hand was kind, knowledgeable, and more than willing to offer help at any stage. 
We received a tour of the facility that included a much appreciated history of the program. During the tour we were shown several different areas that were in need of volunteer work. Each station was thoroughly explained and once the tour ended, we got straight to work stocking shelves, cleaning, and organizing inventory. Even though the staff was very busy, they took care to check in with us several times throughout the day and were readily available to answer any questions and provide guidance. I highly recommend volunteering at NB Food Bank, the staff is incredible, particularly the coordinator Jennifer Lankford, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. 
Prior to volunteering here, I was unaware of what a thorough and holistic approach the NB Food Bank takes towards fighting hunger and food insecurity. While the program does focus on providing food to those in need, many other services are available onsite as well including assistance with finding a job and nutrition classes. The organization provides services that are direly needed in the community and relies heavily on volunteers. If you are looking for a way to help, I strongly urge you to consider spending a morning at the NB Food Bank, even children can volunteer!

my first time ever going to a food bank. these people are  an extraordinary blessing. super friendly i didn't feel awkward or anything else but welcome. and the quality and generous amount of good food is nothing short of excellent. thank you ever so much.
