The New Canaan Thrift Shop has become like Goodwill industries that overprices its used designer goods. A pair of Jimmy Choo shoes with the bottom's completely worn were selling for $100.00. I do not know who runs the thrift shop but whoever does their pricing must think that they can capitalize on a name because it is a name. You can go online to YOOX and purchase designer samples for 90% off of retail. TJ Maxx also now offers Runway where you can also get designer labels-brand new no less- for unbelievable low prices. The New Canaan Thrift Shop forgets that is is a thrift shop, that its clothes are used and no telling how many years or decades they sat in someone's closet. Even their items at half off are pricey and the used designer labels do not go on sale. Once upon a time the New Canaan Thrift Shop used to be a fun place to shop because it was a thrift shop. I don't know what you would call it now, but it is not a thrift shop. It is more of a used clothing store meaning there are no real bargains inside, this place is about raising money for its cause and the most it can possibly raise. And, if anyone bought those trashed bottomed Jimmy Choo shoes, they would have had to be out of their mind, or just willing to hand the Shop a donation and toss the shoes when they left.
