compassionate treatment of me and my cat. I needed emergency attention for my cat who was in distress.  They saw us right away. I had to put my pet to sleep. The staff was kind and respectful. Thank you for your kindness.

This review is to document the exceptionally poor service I received at this business including incorrect and missing information on their website.
On December 4, 2017, I contacted your business via email to request a tour of your boarding facility. Per your website, “Owner Visits and Tours of the Facility” were offered. The response I received via email from Ms. Karen St. Hilaire was that your insurance does not allow non-employees past the boarding lobby. Thinking that was strange as your website was clear, I phoned the clinic on December 5th and was given the same response. As I was still in need of a boarding facility, I asked a multitude of questions and ultimately was satisfied and made a reservation for one night on December 30th. I was told that updated vaccine information was needed at time of check in otherwise I was all set.
On December 30th, I arrived at your facility only to be told that my dog needed a “resort exam”. I was surprised as this was never mentioned when I phoned earlier in the month. I was told it was a requirement for boarding and needed to be done before I could drop my dog off. I asked why I was not told of this requirement when I made my reservation and was told it was a mistake by the person taking my reservation and they didn’t have my phone number so could not contact me. I asked why this requirement was not on the website and the resort receptionist insisted it was. I asked to be shown where on the website but the receptionist could not locate it. So, as I had no other options at this point other than cancelling my plans, I went around to the Clinic side of the building and waited for my “resort exam”. After seeing the doctor for a maximum of 5 minutes, my dog was declared “Healthy Animal” and I was required to pay $50 for an exam that I didn’t need and had already had at my primary vet.
I returned to the resort side of the facility, filled out the required paperwork and left my dog for one night. Four days later she came down with kennel cough. She had not been anywhere except your facility and my home. After a costly visit to my vet and time at home to recuperate, she is finally feeling better. Fiona is 8 years old and has never been so sick. I can only conclude she contracted this at your facility.
So, after being told I could not tour your facility, needed a “resort exam”, contracted kennel cough, and was treated poorly by your staff insisting that your website was correct when it was not, I will never bring any of my animals to your facility again. I have lived on the North Shore since 1990 and used your Clinic for over 10 years when I first moved here. After a very bad misdiagnosis by one of your veterinary doctors and ultimately losing our older cat, I stopped using your Clinic. After almost 15 years, I thought I would give it another try as I only live ½ mile away. After this experience not only will I never darken your doorway again, I will look for all the opportunities I can to tell my friends and colleagues what a poor business you run.
