Absolutely worth the effort and the two or three dollars that they charged me as a Sr. Citizen. Going "underground" into a mock up of a uranium mine was really great. They actually built the mine first, with remnants from the real thing, and then built the museum building on top of the mine. Evidently most of the people who are there are volunteers and most actually worked the mines. The guy who was there when I was there was really very good. One of the best deals (if not the only deal) in Grants.

The replica uranium mine was extremely cool and educational. The media room contains video clips about attractions throughout the area, so you're in luck if you don't know the attractions well.

Interesting place, you can go down into the mine. The gentleman working there has over 40 years of mining experience. Very knowledgeable.

Had the opportunity to meet Jack when I brought my boyfriend to visit the museum from California. Always loved this place. Highly recommend visiting.

Very realistic replica of a uranium mine. Also mineral and ancient pottery displays. Great tour guides, and very friendly staff.
