Trying to give negative star but? simple request to NY State Health, please update the customer service and communication. please check your employee who make their own comments on client case instead of actually inform client, example we send you letter on Blah Blah. because of your mistake and miscommunication, while we are the people suffer. This is 21st century and IT industry is very Fast so please wake up and try not to say something absurd. I am facing same worse experience in different issue since 2009. please make decision by client document and make sure client being notified your last decision. my son(3Y) is went to visit doctor and but he can't because insurance is cancel Dec-6 Base of income and I did not get notified and after 1 hour one of NY Representative confirm. you say that, you send letter and you confirm same address on file so where is letter? Yes, I can buy the insurance, but to get this appointment again I have to wait another 2-3 month because this is special doctor. any answer NY state of Health???????????????? God Bless you

Told I would get reimbursed for my son's medical costs prior to the start of his MVP policy. When I called to submit my bills, I was told that I cannot get reimbursed my $2,500 and that I should have picked a different doctor. I'm sorry, what? I called in advance to make sure I understood my options. But, I was lied to - either then or now. Either way, They get to keep my $2,500 scott free.

I have called a few times over the years and gotten three very friendly, caring, knowledgable, kind reps (hence the extra star), and three truly awful, ignorant, rude people who clearly hate their jobs (they answered the phone in a very flat voice, with attitude before I even opened my mouth) and gave me incorrect information that could have cost me thousands of dollars a year had i listened to them. It truly seems that several of their employees do not have basic comprehension skills and know nothing about their own company's policies. Several of them I've spoken with do not know the different between "gross income" and "adjusted gross income." That is a hugely important distinction when it comes to figuring out insurnace rates. Some of them have told me certain info was not available and I pointed out it was written directly on their website. No apologies on their part. So not only have some of their employees been incredibly ignorant, but exceptionally rude and arrogant on top of it. There's a problem when I understand their fee structure and their website better than they do. With most companies, I'm impressed with customer service. With Ny State of health, I am astounded that they have seemed to hire the most uneducated, ghetto, rude, ill informed people I've ever encountered. And there seems to be no accountability. Unfortunately I am forced to deal with them to get insurance.

I think most of these reviews are bunk. The "customers" make it sound like NY State of Health is there insurer, which they're not. They are an exchange with all of the health insurers participating in Obamacare listed. One chooses an insurance company such as MVP or Blue Cross and a plan from said insurance company. I've never had one problem with my insurer, nor have I ever had a problem with NY State of Health website or via phone. Or with claims. All have been pretty damn good.

Customer service reps need to be more informed to give accurate information. This is people's health you are dealing with here! You are the first door we have to go through to get insured!
