Nice park for camping with lots of wildlife to view in their natural habitat. Convenient to many historical sites, shopping centers, gift shops and tons of great places to dine. I would rate the facility higher if the rest rooms were cleaner and better maintained.

This campground is on the natural side of developed, which I prefer. It's very big, has 30/H2O, 50/H2O, and undeveloped sites. There is a dump station, several trash collection points and bathhouse. Out of I believe 188 sites, maybe 15-20 were occupied during our stay. The management allowed us to pick a site of our chosing because the original site we were assigned wasn't as soon as others. There is a lake that some of the sites are backed into, however it is not suitable for swimming. The park is clean and very quiet. There are playgrounds for small children. It is also a good running or bike riding park. The feather in the cap of this campground is it's location, being very near the majority of sites in the Newport News area, and 30-40 minutes from Norfolk sites.

Great Park in the middle of the city! Very well preserved and maintained. Many shelters in various locations throughout the park. Activities from hiking, boating, fishing from shore or boat, ball fields, volleyball courts, biking and various playgrounds for the kiddies. Also you can just enjoy nature. A large campground is across the lake with trails to historic Yorktown.

Great date place. The boat rental is great way to get that romantic boat ride without that cruise liner price. Food Prices on everything seemed very reasonable. Ice cheap, snacks about same as grocery stores, boat rental very affordable. Get the popsicles!!!

Very nice park. Nice public areas, shelters and playgrounds. Trails and biking trails are well maintained. There is a nature center too. Well patrolled by the rangers too. Good place for Pokemon Go players as well.
