Everyone from the Receptionist to the Ombudsman Shantelle has been wonderfully helpful. Shantelle has gone far beyond what I would have expected. From what I understand, her position is to help you know what resources are available within the community, something that we had absolutely no knowledge of when I showed up at her office. Shantelle has practically held my hand during this journey trying to care for my mother-in-law, from making visits to the nursing home to obtain written permission from my m-i-l so she could work with me, to facilitating meetings, to suggesting future options to pursue, always making sure I understood what I was being told. This has not been an easy situation for us, but it would have been much, much harder without Shantelle and the staff at NARCOG.

I contacted this office over a month ago to help me with finding a drug plan and Medicare supplement policy. They took my information over the phone and were supposed to call me back and never returned the call. After 2 weeks I went to the office and had to fill out papers with the same information I had already given to them on the phone. When I finished filling out the papers the receptionist gave me more papers and told me to take the papers home and fill them out and return them in the mail but I filled the papers out and gave them to her to save time. She said no one was available to help me and would can me the first part of the following week. I waited but they never called back so I called on 12/5 and had to leave a message again and knowing I had a 12/7 deadline I knew i had to try to get a the plans set up on my own. I called Medicare and they helped my with the drug plan but was unable to assist with the supplement policy but they did tell me how to find my options. I got my drug plan and supplement policy set up on 12/5 without any help from narcog. Narcog returned my call today on 12/6 to ask what they could help me with and I told them I had took care of the plans myself. If I rate this service for the help I received it would be ZERO stars. I was able to do this myself but I'm sure there are aging seniors who could not do this because of health or no computer and who is there to help them?
