Like one of the others said, it was a huge adjustment coming from a brick & mortar school. If your child does well without constant instruction they will be fine. My son retains more now than he ever did. It takes a lot of involvement from the parents but his education is worth it. Very happy to have the opportunity to try out a different approach to traditional schools. He learns the same curriculum as his friends in other schools and can transfer to a regular school at any time and his credits will be accepted.

I'm literally in tears after my experience just receiving a horrible & unprofessional welcome call from my child's assigned home room teacher (D. Bryant), and then speaking with the Elem. Asst. Principal (E. Matson) The welcome call started off wrong by the teacher calling & asking to speak with me by my first name in a tone as if we knew each other personally, and then never answering any of my questions. All of her answers were "uh this, or uh that". I at one point had to ask how long she's been a teacher b/c she truly made me feel like I was speaking to a TEENAGER or an unprofessional college freshman. When I received a return call from the Asst Principal for elem, I was further disrespected b/c each time I finished talking, I had to say "hello" b/c there was an awkward silence where I could hear her duping other things but not answering me. I asked could she refrain from doing this, and her response to me was "I'm sorry you feel that way". I'm literally in tears b/c I really wanted this to work out for my son, as he really needs this type environment, but the fact that my request for a more seasoned teacher was flat out denied, and even the asst principal was rude and dismissive.....I feel that we are going to have to go back to this HORRIBLE brick & mortar school. I would NOT recommend NC Connections Academy to ANYONE.

some of the teachers I have tend to not really do live lessons to help us the student learn more about the stuff we have to read and for me I do better having a teacher show and tell us about what we are learning there is only one teacher who does Live Lessons almost everyday to help us learn and that's the math teacher.

NCCA was a big adjustment for my son and our whole family but it has been amazing. The curriculum is excellent and the teachers are caring and understanding. If you are looking for a truly different educational experience, give NCCA a try.
