Best zoo I've ever visited. A majority of the animals have a lot of free range. Staff is polite and friendly. There are also many other features for kids such as the carousel and a 4D movie theater. The place is huge so if you can't walk it all, there's transportation. Restaurants and gift shops also make it easy to stay the entire day and take a little piece home with you. I love this zoo!

Absolutely love the NC Zoo. They have a great variety of animals and really excellent habitats for most of the animals. Their staff is friendly and very knowledgeable; we've especially enjoyed the staff inside the aviary and how helpful they are. I love the layout of the zoo and everything is really well marked to help you get around. The trams are easy to navigate if you need a ride back to where your car is. Would definitely recommend!!

One of North Carolina's finest gems. One of the greatest zoos in the world! Great animals, and you can walk for miles if you like. They have two areas... Africa and North America. They have shuttle service between the two. Season passes are awesome, as you can get into NC Aquariums for free.

Such a great zoo! Be prepared for lots of walking. Depending on the season not everything is open so make sure to check out their website so you know what to expect. I was ecstatic to see the bison so that was the only picture I took but they have a really diverse group of animals.

We enjoyed a trip to the zoo as did our kids! The animals have so much space to roam which was nice to see. There is a good amount of walking from one side to the other but worth it.
