Big forest. You have to check in for every visit, so not really very convenient for frequent visitors.

Nice but very small visitor center. Friendly staff and lovely trails. This is NOT the National Wildlife Visitor Center, which is on the southwestern side of the Patuxent reserve.

Easy and quick check in. Very friendly staff and rangers. I just wish they come up with a member ID that you could just scan when you come.
