This is a very nice skin resort. The mountain is big and they have decent runs. Lodge and amenities are great as well in the village. There's an ice skating rink and tubing for those who don't ski. Prices are kind of high but that's what I'd expect for a nicer resort.

It's a beautiful little village/plaza, with nice ski resort and places to stay overnight! Good for a day trip or a weekend getaway! The Ski lessons and rentals are a little expensive but there are some good restaurants especially "Inxpot Cafe", very cozy, nice food, inexpensive! Definitely try their "El Terrain Burrito!" There is also a Starbucks, which is a relief for coffee drinker like myself! Definitely recommend this resort

From a beginner snowboarder: The staff is friendly and helpful compared to Squaw Valley. The ski & snowboard school is big and my instructor was pretty good and friendly (her name is Sheila). I'd taken lessons for 2 days. The green runs are good slopes for beginners (its not always the case in other resorts). A fun way to end the day is to speed through the green Village Run and get back to the village instead of taking the gondola.

Some of the finest skiing in the US. Also the village is amazing. Plenty of choices for food, drink... Apres ski - wind down and relax. BUT, if your looking to stay on site... OUCH! It'll take not only a bite out of your wallet, it'll take your bank account too. Definitely for the bay area wealthy only to afford staying here. So with that said, plenty of snowflakes and snotty brats from 5-60 years old. And these are people who should know better but treat everyone else as maids and butlers. Funny what money does to a human.

After purchasing a season pass here for almost 15 years now, I am done with this miserable dump. Even asking for a refund is out of the question with them, I don't understand how they cannot give me my money back for an overpriced pass on a mountain with no snow (among other things). This place has turned into a corporate song and dance and the once local feel it had just isn't there anymore. Here is a few things: -The employees walk around like zombies almost as if they are reading from scripts. They all seem to say the same thing and don't really seem to care to work at the mountain. -This mountain has transformed into a maze of overpriced antics and they dress it up as a wonderful village experience when in reality a dressed up pig is still a pig, or something like that. -How can you charge 152$ for a day ticket and less than half the mountain is open? I don't really get that one either but its pretty clear at this point the only thing that matters to them is the money and not the experience. Whats really sad about all of this is that this mountain used to be my favorite place to ride. I use to look forward to coming up here and a huge reason why I went to college was to ride here... Now its very likely i will never ride here again. It has completely changed into something I no longer want to be a part of. There are better mountains in Tahoe and if you enjoy riding more than the hotel/resort aspect then perhaps look somewhere else. As for me, Northstar is dead.
