Stay away from Dr. Kathleen Long of the NGOC Douglasville location. She pushes hard for the more expensive "latest medicines" like she is a sales person for them. I was on Coumadin for years with no problems. They talked me into trying the Elequis. Then I decided to change back to Coumadin after a week. Dr. Long told me that I would be at a much higher risk for clots with Coumadin. If I changed from Elequis, I would have to accept the risks. I have been on Coumadin at the same maintenance dosage for years and years with no problems until I decided not to stay on the Elequis. Now, according to Dr. Long, I am in serious danger if I take Coumadin. The nurses and other staff at NGOC have been great. But, if you don't want a pharmaceutical sales person for a doctor, stay away from Dr. Long. I'm changing doctors.
