Ten stars if possible. Great museum with paintings and sculptures from the Great Masters. This museum houses some of the greatest artworks of mankind and is a pleasure to visit. There are also outside sculpture gardens and a pond that make the experience even more great. Do not miss the ancient Asian exhibit or the special exhibits on the lower level. Plenty of on site parking, low entry cost, and ease of freeway access makes this a perfect stop for the art enthusiast and traveler. Special thanks to the staff member that found my camera case that had dropped out of my pocket and then searched for me to return it. Super clean bathrooms, helpful people at each exhibit, and security that rivals Fort Knox make this museum a good visit. Be sure to allow two to four hours or more, and be sure to bring your camera {NON-Flash photography is allowed}.

Large permanent collection occupies most the gallery space. Outdoor sculptures decorate the grounds. Pleasant setting for the outdoor Garden Cafe. Diverse shopping in the museum store. Loved the complete Impressionist paintings including Van Gogh works. Would have enjoyed the artworks more if not for the protective glass!

Norton Simon Museum is an aesthetically pleasing museum. My mother, wife and I had a great time. The attendant was considerate, the admission was free for students, the eclectic collection of art was inspiring. I would recommend visiting this museum. After the museum, we dined and walked around Downtown Pasadena.

Perfect size for a museum Great art. Today did sections on 20th century. Beautiful sculptures. Not overly crowded.

Splendid collection, on par with that of much larger museums in particular niche areas - for example they have a remarkable collection of Chola bronzes from South India in the basement. The museum is well organized, the descriptions of the items often well written, and there are garden areas with sculptures which are very pleasant on both ground and basement levels. The parking lot is spacious and makes a visit easy.
