We tried this place because of all the great reviews and pictures of the food. I knew right away when I went to the women’s restroom to wash my hands that this was probably gonna be a bad experience. The water BARELY trickled out of the faucet, never got even slightly warm and you could tell someone filled the soap bottle with water because there was very little “soap” in it at all. I sure hope they have a better hand washing station in the back for the cook and wait staff. The waitress was very sweet and attentive and I know this is not her fault by all means so I give her a 5 star. The place overall just seemed dirty. My husband had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. He had to take the chicken out of the tortillas and eat it separately. He said the sauce tasted like something he had never had before and that was not a good thing. Chips and salsa were just ok. Charro beans were ok but nothing special. I had a flour beef taco a la carte because of my first impression listed above. Ate half and decided it probably wasn’t safe to go on. I’m all about shopping local and I really wish I didn’t feel the need to post this but maybe the owner will read and take heart. I honestly do not know how this place has this rating on Facebook but don’t be fooled like we were. The food looks nothing like the pics. Oh!!!! I almost forgot…The $1.00 margarita special is “you get what you pay for FOR SURE…sugar water”
Well, we really wanted to find another great food option for Decatur but literally nothing was hittin right for us. Salsa was ok, chips a lil too oily, guacamole had a weird taste, topshelf margarita had a weird twang. The bartender did notice I wasn't touching it and asked me if it was OK. He offered to add some more agave nectar and oj to make it better. So no complaints about the service. It was very nice, but the food just wasn't hittin good for us. Beans and rice even had a twang we aren't used to. Hope it's good for others though.
After reading the mixed reviews I decided to eat here however the food for me was mediocre.. Chips & salsa 2 out of 5 stars oily chips and maybe old oil or old chips mixed in with new as they were dark and light colored. Salsa was questionable but did have some good flavor to it. I got the Cali Burrito $12.99 large serving size however the flavor wasn’t all that good..just a bland burrito that lacked flavor. I was hoping from all the diverse ingredients within this burrito that it’d be tasty..French fries lacked flavor, definitely are just some basic frozen fries & weren’t crispy. Maybe other dishes are better but my experience just wasn’t all that good
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, food and drink quality and flavor are very poor. Canned cheese on nachos, frozen margarita made with ice and a few drops of tequila?? The drink was literally almost white because it had almost no mixer in it? It explains being the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday for lunch. Honestly Decatur has the worst food selection overall that I've ever experienced. If you know someone who operates a good restaurant, they could probably put the towns food industry out of business. Sorry for the people who live here : In response to the business being upset about the review: I shouldn't need to tell a Texmex facility how to make nachos and a margarita. Your decisions to cut corners and provide low quality food and drinks weren't done out of ignorance. You have provided the quality you wanted, and I am providing the information the community deserves to have. My review is honest, your food and drink quality is deceptive.....nobody is going to come to you expecting such low quality goods, especially at normal prices. I hope you take this seriously, improve, and are successful!
The service was not that great and they had no grounds beef, no milk for the kids. The kid nachos were really spicy and kid tacos were spicy. The server was more interested in flirting with the guy at the bar than customer service. So we are not eating there again.Food: 2/5
Greatest beer and margarita prices around and cannot beat the tacos or burritos. Servers/ bartenders and attentive and sweet as can be. Swing by if you haven’t already. Leslie is the best there isFood: 5/5
The only item that was decent was the chips and salsa and the white queso. The rice was bland and dry, and my fajita meat was very bland. I don't like the fact we did not receive a receipt to show what we were paying for. The 2 taco plate on the menu said $12 and some change. The queso was almost $4, and my drink was $6. I'm still trying to figure out how I paid over $27, and if there was a gratuity why we weren't told or it was stated on the menu. Yes I should have asked for a receipt, but there's the problem first hand. I shouldn't have asked for a receipt. If I wasn't so tired, and in a rush to get back home 3 hours away I would have made a complaint at the time. I definitely won't be back if I ever visit Decatur again.
It’s is a great little place to get a quick bite. The Torta was huge and extremely delicious, the enchiladas were good but under seasoned and the salsa was great too. I really love the home fried chips. All the staff was very prompt and super friendly the entire visit. Definitely worth a stop.
Our server was great. She was sincere & very attentive. But the food was horrible. We tried the breakfast buffet, & the only thing that was palatable was the bacon. Menudo was undercooked. Very chewy like hard gizzards. Hominy was firm. Clearly not finished cooking overall. Refried beans had no flavor. Charro beans tasted like water. Eggs were also bland. It's not good food at all. Never going back.
Came here looking for some amazing food from what we had heard of but sadly didn’t receive the food we order. Walked in sat down to eat the salsa is great the chips ehhh… after we had received our chips and salsa three other tables came in after us. We patiently waited 20 minutes for our chips to be refilled, and our queso that we ordered as an appetizer to be brought out to us that we never received. The two other tables received their food before we even received our queso and our entrées. After that, we also proceeded to ask for our food to go we waited another 30 minutes to receive our to go order that as well never came to us. One of the tables, almost finished their food when we decide to finally get up and leave the restaurant, we were hoping to try the Cali burrito and barria tacos. We left before the hr mark of serving the chips and salsa. This was a joke and borderline insulting. They also were getting other Togo orders wrong.
