It was a fun place! It's closed now.

Pretty good. As an out-of-towner, it's also the only place that comes up on Google maps. Here's the thing: siglebarrel (in San Jose) has set the bar extremely high for me but I had a few drinks here that stood out to me: a pineapple habanero gimlet, the real McCoy, and the Dapper Dan. The pineapple habanero gimlet was pretty well-balanced, with the salted rim, light habanero infused vodka, and lime/sugar blending well together. It's no Cactus Flower, but if you don't like and seek out spicy food, that's a good thing. If they used freshly sliced habanero, the drink could be a real award winner. The real McCoy was a decently flavored, spirit forward (whiskey) drink. My Dapper Dan, (made by a different bartender and not the proprietor) was disappointing. My friend had just ordered one and it had a well balanced mint/blueberry profile. The one I got was overpowered by mint. I had it replaced with a blueberry mojito, which strangely ended up tasting like my friend's more balanced drink. The original Old-fashioned that he ordered was very subdued tasting, unlike my real McCoy. On the other hand, while the drinks may not taste like you expect them to, they are pretty strong and the food menu is excellent. Larger portions than my hometown and very tasty. As an aside, while Eugene loves the karaoke here, I feel it detracts from the experience (although without being unbearable) and if I owned the place, it'd be the first thing to go. Or I'd turn it down just a little bit. I'd have music, but not like it is now. Yelling at someone to speak in public is really only fit for a nightclub/music event. Still, if you want an artisinal cocktail, its really the only place to go and there are more pros than cons. Also, it's the only place I've been in Eugene that allows you to vape.

I always enjoy the Speakeasy! I don't know what all the grumpy people are talking about, but Speakeasy is totally clean and well kept. Don't take the word of a few folks who are probably dissatisfied with much of their lives. I know the owner only because she is always their taking care of her patrons. She books plenty local bands, many of whom are just getting their start. The food is mostly organic, always fresh and well prepared. Try the chicken tacos and buffalo burger! Another plus is that I have never found there to be a cover charge. Not sure if this is always, but I have been there plenty, seen a wide variety of music and never paid to enter. Also, the best electronic night in town hosted by "Children of Discord", third Wednesday of the month. Check it out!

What an amazing place! The atmosphere is very italian-mobster-roaring 20's and the food is some of the best Italian I've had in Eugene. I've been there a few times now and they've got Jazz most nights with no cover. Last week there was comedy on Tuesday.
It was hard to find though, because it's downstairs... like basement. But it was a great experience and my wife and I will absolutely go back!
