This has been our favorite South Dakota State Park for a long time. We like the remoteness of it, but it also has a bunch of things to do. It has the new(er) south campground, so there's usually a space available (just not as much shade yet at the newer sites). There are several cabins if you don't feel like tenting it. Other things to do: swim beach, sand volleyball, nature trails, fishing (dock or shore fishing if you don't have a boat), canoe/kayak rentals (recommend Mortimer's Slough for quieter waters on a windy day), and a nice disc golf course. This park is well-maintained and we've always had good service there. They offer firewood for sale and free sports equipment and game checkout too.

Beautiful park, lots of things to do. Disc golf, fishing, camping, biking, hiking. They rent canoes and kayaks, and the lakes are very nice. Beach for swimming with sand volleyball court. Excellent spot for picnics or camping.
