This is our "go-to" beach vacation spot every year. I have been going since I was a kid and it has definitely changed, but for the good. If you have a family then this is the spot for you. It is kid friendly in every aspect and we look forward to going every year.
** Make sure that you take the kiddos to see the movie in the pool on Saturday night! They will love it!

Ocean Lakes is a cutie little place. Good vibes, good place. Nice master-planned style community. Great private-ish beach. Overall, really nice. 

However, BEWARE of the volleyball court. The sand is real unkempt and shifty. It’s not even and hasn’t been groomed or raked in some time. Our friend rolled his ankle extremely badly after only a slight movement. I’ve played a lot of sand volleyball and this court doesn’t seem to be as well maintained as the rest of the community. Too bad.

We've stayed here for years and have enjoyed it each time! A wonderful place to relax on the beach. The convienent camp store, eateries and ice cream if you don't want to get in the car to go somewhere! Truly a unique place to spend your vacation, with plenty to do for the family! It can get a little crowded depending on the time of year, but still a great place to be!

Great place to stay, friendly, great prices, we have been going there for years and will continue to go for years to come. It’s a great location for all ages from kiddie pools to nice areas to watch the waves at night and and watch the sunrise over the ocean. Great places to eat, shop, and just hang out. Pet friendly and we’ve always felt safe in our he campground. There is always something for everyone to do. It’s local to meany areas of entertainment outside of the campground. Always a good time no matter what time of year you go. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone anywhere anytime. So for a great time you can always stay here.

I didn't stay here, but I am disappointed that you stereotype dogs. I have a dog that was mixed with a pit bull and she would never do anything to hurt someone. She is a puppy of around 6 months with blue eyes and is trained strictly (NOT abusively) to not jump up on people, not bite, not steal food/beg, and to not bark. She listens on command and walks politely on leash. We were going to stay here with her but were offended that you would not allow a well trained animal. Only the owners make a dog dangerous. A dog does not become dangerous by breed. I have been bitten by dogs four times and it was from a golden retriever (the stereotypical 'family friendly/kid friendly dog') and an Australian shepherd, the loyal, friendly dog. Both the dogs were owned by a friend/family member, and were 'dangerous' because they weren't socialized enough and because of past traumatizing experiences.
