Five stars on the estimate and consultation with Kevin Sweeney.  Kevin arrived as expected, was helpful to understand the problem and respectful of my home.  Kevin listened to my concerns and his response was appropriate and considerate of what I was looking to do.  I am pleased to hear that there is a lifetime transferable warranty for the work they are going to do and I have a great deal of confidence that the basement will be dry when they are finished -- despite it being a 170+ year old house!  I look forward to the work being done and will provide another review on the outcome. In the meantime, so far so good.

Technician kindly kept in touch via text so that I knew when to expect him.  He explained all items to me and answered my question.  Made a good recommendation for batter back up.  I will be able to start to save for that at a later date.  Very satisfied with the service.

My wife and I just signed with Ohio Basement Systems. Should you require foundation or waterproofing work and consider this company, hopefully you will have the good fortune to speak with Kevin Sweeney, sales representative. 

We have received three estimates from companies including OBS. I set out to be hypercritical, not only because structural issues directly impact all other home systems, but also because we have been burned by contractors before. We resigned ourselves to find a reputable company (my wife compiled an extensive Angie’s List spreadsheet) who would provide expert service as well as the strongest and most reliable solution. 

I put poor Kevin through the wringer. I was, in fact, fully prepared to tell him to beat feet if I had heard the slightest falter or pushy sales technique. In fact, I had a pretty good feeling about an excavator with whom I had previously spoken. Not only did Kevin convince me that their system was far superior, but he also educated me on why the other estimates were faulty and ultimately designed to fail. And it wasn’t shrewd, sales-y, or opinionated; everything he presented me, as well as every answer to the most obscure questions I had, was met with fact-based and confident answers, in a calm and understanding manner. 

Kevin helped me understand that cheaper options (and ultimately, not that cheaper!) only corrected a symptom, and not the underlying problem. The main problem is hydrostatic tension and water flow. The OBS systems not only straighten walls and waterproof, but also allow the water to egress in a way that won’t undermine the foundation. 

If you have to deal with these problems in your home, give Kevin at Ohio Basement Systems a call. I’d ask for him by name. He’s as good a teacher as he is salesman.

Mike Depasquale originally came and did my estimate and he was great. Had a great sense of humor to go along with the knowledge he provided to my wife and I. He went out of his way to move up our install date to make sure it was installed before our baby was born which we are beyond grateful for. John, Josh & Jake did an excellent job on my basement. Was very pleased with the professionalism and the quality of the work. They answered all questions that I had and made sure I wasn’t left with any uncertainty. I will definitely recommend Ohio Basement Systems to anybody that needs work done in the future.

OMG! We are very impressed and happy with the work John, Josh and the third guy (sorry, forgot his name) did water proofing our basement!  They were very professional and did a awesome job, from start to finish.  I was surprised how nice of a clean up they did when they finished. They explain everything to us and answered any questions we had.  I would highly recommend Ohio Basement System to any one looking to have waterproofing done.  Thank you guys again!
