Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA Journey

About

We're just a stone's throw from many famous attractions!

Story

The Olympic Peninsula and Olympic National Park region is one of the most spectacular destinations in Washington, and the OPPA (Olympic Peninsula Port Angeles) KOA is the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy it. Explore forests, glaciers, hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and the Olympic Mountain Range-whose majestic peaks are visible from our campground.

The quaint town of Sequim offers a multitude of things to see and do. Visit one of the many family owned farms that have put this town on the map as the Lavender Capital of North America. Wander downtown and drop by one of the many small boutiques, or stop by the Rainshadow Coffee House for a cup of coffee from beans they custom roast daily. For the more adventuresome, the nearby Olympic Game Farm offers you a chance to get up close and personal with a wide variety of exotic animals from the comfort of your car.

Port Angeles is an old historic town with many antique shops, coffee houses and restaurants to pique your interest. Explore the Marine Life Center, where you can touch and interact with many of the sea creatures that are native to this area. Or maybe you dare to travel west from Port Angeles and venture into vampire territory of Forks, the setting for the Twilight Saga Novels by Stephanie Meyers.

Just a quick ferry ride from Port Angeles, across the straights of Juan de Fuca, leads you to Canada and the beautiful city of Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. Visit Butchart Gardens, one of the top attractions in Victoria, or take a tour bus from the ferry dock and see the many historical sites and buildings in the city. Whatever your fancy, Victoria is sure to please!

Lest we forget those Washington residents that are just looking to get away from the city for a few days and decompress, OPPA KOA is a destination unto itself; a one-tank weekend that is sure to please with loads of fun-filled activities during our peak season. Daily activities, such as evening movies, hay rides, tie dye, monster bikes, and a variety of outdoor recreation options are sure to entertain the kids, while you relax outside your rig and unwind.

So come on over and give us the opportunity to show you some of our good old fashioned OPPA hospitality! We are sure that once you experience all we and the Olympic Peninsula have to offer you will understand why so many people call this area a little slice of paradise!

Also, just a reminder, please remember to click our Campground overview tab for additional information regarding our campground. Have a great stay!

Super clean. Well put together. Our key was waiting for us when we arrived way after the office closed. Much appreciated.

This KOA was very clean and nice. Without a doubt, I will come back to this Kamp when I'm in town. I'd recommend this place to other travelers. Amenities include laundry, showers, dog park, playground, pool , free WiFi, and even bikes to rent. STAY HERE WHEN YOU ARE COMING TO TOWN!

We had a most interesting stay in Port Angeles and giving the place a bad rating is based on our last night stay. Our stay was unusual because we pulled in for an overnight, needed to store our RV for 5 days while we unhooked and visited family, and then reconnected and stayed one more night before heading south. Our first night was charged at full hook-up even though we decided to put our trailer in the spot it would remain for the next 5 days - so we were essentially dry. Yes, this was our choice - so be it. Facilities were nice enough (showers etc). We left for the next 5 nights and were charged the agreed to dry storage rate. Our return had us arrive after 6:00pm - dark and cold - with the office closed. We found a note that the office would be open the next day after 11:00am. We were late because we were dealing with a slow-leak on our truck. We chose not to hook-up and move to a serviced spot because we needed to get the tire repaired. We searched for paperwork regarding codes to washroom/shower facilities and wifi but found none. We were NOT happy. The next morning we awoke to s snow-filled empty campground. We did find a place to repair our tire, returned to the site to pick-up our trailer and head south - well before the office ever would open. Later I called into the office requesting a refund for our last night stay (charged at full hook-up) and received much attitude from the customer service person. I did receive a call back from Lana (one of the owners) who promised a refund and yet after several emails requesting said refund, we have received nothing. Now its the principle of the matter - we would not recommend this site.

This place is magical. Me and my husband opted for tent camping. We had a view of mountains, green landscape in front of our tent. Trees were surrounding the tent. One part I didn't like was that there were two cargos placed from a distance of say 500 feet from our tent which felt like it's getting in the way of the beautiful scenery. Overall the place is calm nice and beautiful.
