If you want to be ripped off, then hire Rex Horton. He took $2,100 dollars from me. He was suppose to put in a walk in shower, but first wanted the money to order the shower. First it came in wrong, then it came in broke, then he said he would give my money back on Thursday. Guess what that was in May of 2013, and I haven't seen him since. So I lost my $2,100 dollars. If you are an elder lady like me, please don't hire Rex Horton of Omega Construction.

DO NOT USE!!! My shower was leaking through the seams of the walls. I hired him for an expensive complete remodel and replacement of the bathroom. His work was very fast and shoddy. After an expensive renovation the same problem continued and water is still leaking through my basement ceiling. He claims to have a year warranty, however it takes a long time, if ever to get back to you. Him and his workers do not take the time to discover the root of the problem and just try to put a quick band aid on it to fix the issue that never works. I just hired a new contractor that came highly recommended. It took him 3 minutes and figured the issue out. Now I have to hire him to fix Rex's work. The new contractor could not believe Rex and his team did not do a few simple steps that would have permanently fixed the issue. Now I have to rip out half the shower to fix it the right way. I contacted Rex and still have not heard back from him. When this project is fixed Rex will be receiving a copy of my bill from the new contractor, Rex's warranty, and cancelled checks showing I paid him in full from my family attorney. I agree with the other review who said Rex should not be able to call himself a contractor.

Never, ever, EVER use Omega Construction to do any work on your house!! Rex Horton, the owner, is a fraud. I found him on a website called Thumbtack, which is a place where you can find remodeling contractors. He just did $3800 worth of work at our house, putting in a jet tub and a new tile floor. It looks awful! The job was NOT finished on time because of various excuses he gave us. He had to move a wall and the toilet. When putting the toilet back in, it got cracked. There are 2 water leaks under the house from where the tub plumbing is hooked up. He had his 2 sons working for him the whole time and they are dumber than a box of rocks! When they hooked the water back up, for the tub, they got the hot/cold water lines backwards. The paint job they did is terrible. It is the most unprofessional job I've ever seen in my life! Do NOT hire Rex Horton of Omega Construction! We are not going to let Horton fix his mistakes; we will hire a certified plumber, paying more money, to get everything done right, the way it should have been done in the first place. We don't want him back in our house ever! I am reporting Horton/Omega to the BBB right now. I am hoping to put the man out of business. I've taken pictures of all the messed up stuff he did in case we go to small claims court.

We hired Rex Horton (Omega Construction) to do an add-on to our home. The project (which was supposed to take 6-8 weeks) was behind from the start. While 3 weeks of delay were due to weather, the rest was due to Rex and his crew doing shoddy work and not knowing how to proceed. The concrete had to be done by a backup crew. And in fact, the concrete is the only usable part of the work that Rex and his crew did. The floor joist that were placed for the new part of the floor in the add-on did not meet code. The wall framing, which should have taken a few days, took 3+ weeks and was not done correctly- including headers that were undersized and not the proper thickness, a wall not in the right place, a pantry that is crocked in every way possible, etc. In fact, the headers that were put in above the windows and doors, if left, would have necessitated either bending the doors & windows or bending the sheet rock. Rex saw no issue with them. So they moved on to the roof. Their first attempt at a roof had no straight lines or flat planes what-so-ever. The crew (his sons) were having to sit on the decking just to be able to nail it to the frame work. When I went up to walk on it, it bounced like a suspension bridge. We called Rex with our concerns and told him it needed to be ripped off. We also told him we were concerned that he was almost never here working or supervising his young sons. He said he would start being more present and supervising, but that never happened. Their second attempt at a roof was no better. Again, we made them rip it off. But this time we demanded a different crew to do the job. The third roof, while sturdier, was still twisted, had dips all over the place, and did not line up with the original roof. Rex then moved on to shingles. The shingles looked like a child put them on- no straight lines any where and shingles were slopped all over the place. And in the midst of all of this it was one of the wettest summers in recent history. Rex did almost nothing to keep the project dry and didn't seem to care that 5 different times the water rained and flooded into my house- ruining the carpet in my living room and one closet, soaking into and molding my ceiling, causing massive black mold growth under my house, and rotting the original rim joist under my living room. We also paid Rex extra money to seal the original house (which wasn't wrapped) and put house wrap on it. They left the house wrapping over the vents on the house, making it impossible to dry out the now super damp crawl space. When they put the siding back up on the house, it was crooked, mismatched, and falling off. After 14 weeks, Rex emailed me saying he was quitting. I am now left with a disaster of a project. He took a huge amount of money from me, refuses to take my phone calls, and won't return the materials (tile flooring, hardwood flooring, a sliding glass door, and siding) he claims to have purchased with my money. I have had a building inspector write up this project and not a single thing that Rex and his crew touched passes code. It all has to come down and I now have to pay someone a large amount of money to fix everything that Rex damaged. I also now have in my possession a legal background check on Rex Horton. I firmly believe that everything he ever told me is a lie. He told us he has been in business for 20 years- not according to the background check. In fact, he was sentenced to three years in prison for writing bad checks over and over and doing bad business. He has a record a mile long of doing poor work and people suing him for it. And look up Rex Horton and his crew (Aaron and Zach) they all have a series of mugshots. Oh and on top of everything, Rex never got a dumpster for our job- leaving trash, debris, nails, etc in my yard- killing the grass and endangering my young child and dog. We went out of our way to try to support a family business, and he took advantage of ours. By the way, did you notice the only positive review here is one he did himself?!
