The Oregon Fencing Alliance trains fencers of all ages to achieve your dreams, whether you want to be a recreational athlete or an Olympic Champion.
Welcome to the Oregon Fencing Alliance
We are home to the Olympic sport of sabre fencing, two time Olympic gold medalist Mariel Zagunis, and US Women's Olympic Sabre Coach Ed Korfanty. OFA teaches the Olympic sport of sabre fencing in a fun, engaging environment. We are proud members of the United States Fencing Association.
Learn to fence from the best in Portland
The Oregon Fencing Alliance offers Portland's best fencing instruction in a fun, easy to learn, engaging atmosphere - for everyone from beginning fencers as young as 6 to world class athletes including Mariel Zagunis every day.
Led by U.S. Olympic Sabre Fencing Coach, Ed Korfanty - himself a three time world champion - Oregon Fencing Alliance emphasizes proper foundation and technique so that recreational fencers can achieve their dreams and competitive fencers can excel. And his approach works - Coach Korfanty's students have won more than 44 World Championship Medals, 2 Olympic Gold Medals (2008 Beijing, 2004 Athens) and 3 Olympic Bronze Medals (2008 Beijing). Under his guidance, the U.S. Women's Sabre Team has also taken home 5 Gold Medals and 5 World Championships.
Oregon Fencing Alliance classes emphasize the proper bladework, footwork, personal character and sportsmanship qualities fencers of all ages need to succeed on the strip and in life.
Many of our fencers receive college scholarships every year from such prestigious universities as Notre Dame, Air Force, Stanford, Duke, Princeton, Yale, Penn State and more.
