I love going to this classic theatre (opened in 1941). truly, a gem of the East Bay! - and the Orinda Theatre also has great special events. Loved the screening of "American Graffiti" a while back.

With all the Cineplex Theatres around it was nice to experience movies in a setting that is a throw back to an era of movie watching that people will not appreciate. I'm all for great sound and large screens, but there is something so cool about viewing a movie at this Theatre. Is the screen smaller than most yes, but really how big does the screen really need to be! Treat yourself and visit this place, you will be pleased you did. The parking lot near here will validate and you get three hours free.

The single best movie theater in the US of A! Great service, delicious popcorn, and awesome architecture.

Easy to find location with a parking garage. The experience goes down hill from here. The movie screen was the smallest I have ever seen in a theater. We watched a movie heavy in dialog. At the films most climatic moment a loud audience in the adjacent theater drowned out our movie.

Art Deco at it's finest. Beautiful theatre. Don't go expecting state of the art entertainment or spacious, comfortable seats. This is an old school theatre.
