Finally found the best medical facility in Florida. They care about the patient...Open at 6am if you get sick and the workup is comprehensive. Dr. Newton listens and is willing to go the extra mile. Like Dr. Carpenter, but long waits even for first appointment of the day....why? Hot stuffy waiting room with truckstop filthy upholstered chairs...not inspiring a lot of faith.

My previous review was taken down, because I gave one Star to Aimee Murphy, PA. Avoid her at all costs. She is cold and just doesn't care, and has the typical Daytona Attitude of "It's all about me." Dr Dragos Vasile was an AMAZING doctor, but sadly he has left the practice. I would rate him as Five Stars. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I have never had any problems. Dr Carpenter is a super nice guy, but he is also very very busy. So if you need a doctor to manage multiple issues, and you are NOT a proactive patient, find another practice. Otherwise, as long as you avoid PA Murphy, I highly recommend this practice!!

I would not go there if your looking for a honest place to do business. Do not trust the people in business office you can't read the bill because she has a program that she knows only . plus know one in office will cross her even the Dr's. . If you do cross the bit!!!! You are kicked out without a say.

A summary for people who don't have time to read the whole review: DON'T EVER GO THERE. I'm honestly confused by good reviews for this place and can only conclude they were paid for. My husband and I were both patients there for about a year. In that time, we had a combined total number of visits of 6 or so and never once saw a single doctor, just the PA. The people in the front office were rude and incompetent, messing up both appointments and referrals. Worst of all, based only on a needle biopsy, the PA called me at 5:30 on a Friday to tell me I tested positive for cancer and that my options were surgery and chemo and/or radiation treatment. No detail at all on the diagnosis, and at a time when there was no one I could call about this. They didn't even make a referral appointment for me; I had to wait until Monday to make an appointment and learned from the surgeon that the first line of the pathologist's report specified DCIS, which, if the PA had read to me, I could have researched and been enormously relieved as this is a 0-stage carcinoma. It's also routinely misdiagnosed based only on a needle biopsy and turned out, after a lumpectomy, to be LCIS, an even less dire diagnosis that required no follow up treatment at all. After going through all that, I wrote a complaint letter to Dr. Shoemaker about how this was handled. It's bad enough that we never got to see a doctor, but if a cancer diagnosis isn't serious enough for a face-to-face with the doctor, what is? In any event, I still never heard from the doctor but from the doctor's wife who called and told me that 1) she had talked to the PA who was upset and that 2) they were both satisfied that the PA gave me the appropriate amount of detail. Both my husband and I found a new doctor, but still kept getting calls from them confirming appointments we had already canceled. After a few of these, my husband cursed them and told them, again to stop calling. Then the office manager called AGAIN, demanding that I have my husband call them back to apologize because he was rude. Unbelievable! I talked to my surgeon about their "service," and he confirmed that they, at Florida Memorial Hospital, would never treat a patient the way I was treated. It's been four years, and we STILL get emails from them despite my repeatedly emailing them back that we are no longer their patients. If it were possible to give them less than one star, I would.
