Story

Since its founding in 1992, Palos Verdes Medical Group has been working with patients to provide the best health care and urgent care services in the South Bay. Dr. Sher, Dr. Saad, Dr. Gorlick and Dr. Kiss's experience is coupled with genuine concern for their patients’ well-being. PVMG is available to serve your entire family seven days a week.

At Palos Verdes Medical Group, we believe that a doctor and patient become a team for treating an individual’s needs for medical care. Our physicians spend their time listening to your concerns and responding with the best treatment options for you and your family. Although I do think the doctors are pretty good here, my interactions with other staff members have been very disappointing. I have been coming here for several years now, and can confidently say I will never return here. In April 2017, I came here when I had a stomach virus and the doctor sent a sample to the lab. The sample ended up costing $1,100. I repeat, over one-thousand dollars. I had no idea this sample would cost this much, the doctor never mentioned any sort of cost, and I was hit with a bill unknowingly months later. Not only that, but they NOT ONCE called me to tell me the results of the lab. I repeat, after spending over a thousand dollars on a lab test, they didn't even tell me what the results were. Now, I come here again, 8 months later, in December, and I take some blood tests. The nurse tells me I can expect to get the results in 1-2 days. I call 3 days later, expecting the results to be done as confirmed by the nurse, and the office nurse refuses to even look up my medical record! Yup, they won't even do me the courtesy of checking my medical record. They put me on hold, and I was on hold for over 20 minutes and they never got back to me. I called back again 5 minutes later, asked the same office staff again to check my record, and she wouldn't do it! That's right, after calling another time, they wouldn't even check my record. I tried to tell her that I needed these results for my employer by the end of the year, and I begged the staff to please just look up my record, and they finally did. They asked me for my DOB to look up my record, and I told them, and then they said sorry we don't have the results. To make sure they were looking at my record, I asked for my last name, and they wouldn't tell me. So I had no idea if it was even my record. I kept asking, what is the last name on the record, so that I know that it is my record. After this back and fourth, they finally confirmed my name. I wrote this review so others do not have to go through what I went through.

My daughter, my husband and myself are all patients and have been for years. I have never had any incidents of rudeness or unhelpful staff... Quite to the contrary. All of our physicians are professional and caring. We never feel rushed...all the doctors take the time to address our concerns and answer all our questions - which may explain the wait time... They also have convenient parking and extended urgent care hours. It is with great confidence that we refer others to see Drs Sher, Saad and Kiss.

Our family has started coming to PVMG for about two years now. Three of us have severe allergies, and Dr. Sher shows genuine concern and provided us with excellent care. One of my two sons is now peanut allergy free! He is popping peanut M&Ms like it is nothing! We are so happy and the amount of relief on this is invaluable. We love coming here and the family atmosphere in this practice. Dr. Kiss is our kids' doctor and our first experience has been great too. Labcorp is located inside PVMG. It was convenient to not have to make an appt to get lab work done - just walk over to the next room and you are done! I believe they are a relatively new addition here so I can see how someone may have an negative experience. I think they will get things straighten out soon. I too was quoted a very high price for my lab work but that is only if your insurance doesn't cover the work. They have to tell you the price in that case.

Very nice doctors, cannot say the same about the office staff. My reason for the 1 star (would give 0 if I could) is because the disgusting amount of time I have to burn each time i take my children to that place. Be prepared to wait an entire hour for your scheduled appointment...every single time. Further their billing department has no idea what they are doing, they have entered in wrong codes multiple times causing yet another wasted hour spent on the phone trying to sort it out. If you have plenty of time and money to waste, then this place is for you. Couldn't get away quick enough

Great docs but expect to be in there for an hour and a half to 2 hours. Once your done waiting 2 hours the doc will spend about 2 mins with you. If you are ok with that then this is the place for you . I have been in a room waiting for an hour, not the waiting room. So if you plan to make an appointment make sure you don't have anything planned, have a movie ready to watch, eat before you get here, and be prepared to leave with back pain from sitting so long .
