I loved Pamela’s as a Pitt student in the late 90s, and I still love it today nearly 20 years later. The decor has changed to a retro 60s vibe with paintings of famous rock stars long gone and the walls are decked out in classic board games, many of which I remember playing as kid. This particular location is a bit cramped and fills up quick, but the staff is very friendly, quick and efficient at moving diners through without making one feel rushed. The food is always excellent. IMO this is still the BEST BREAKFAST IN PITTSBURGH! Sadly, their prices have slowly crept up over the years and I think they’re getting to a tipping point. $9.25 for an omelet, taters and toast is steep. However, their crepe style pancakes are the best! Love the crispy edges around the dense but soft and buttery cake center. You cannot get a better pancake anywhere else. It has always been cash only, so come prepared.

A Pittsburgh staple. You can't go wrong with any of the food-- it's all delicious. It's loud and boisterous on the weekends, but the food is worth it. All the neighborhood restaurants have a casual, 1950s diner feel. Be prepared for long lines on weekend mornings, unless you use No Wait to reserve a table. Cash only. Free coffee refills.

Not a bad restaurant. They serve pretty good breakfast. My main complaint is the pricing. They meals are pretty pricey. I'm a student and a $10 meal is too high for me.

This is a classic Pittsburgh place I recommend those interested in an amazing breakfast or lunch should visit. They famous for their hot cakes and their potatoes. The service is friendly and fast, and the food is always good. If there are any "downsides", it's that they only accept cash. I highly recommend this place for comfort food breakfast and step back in time.

I ordered from Pamela's in Oakland, a simple scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage and pancakes. Why did I get crepes? If your serving "Crepes" in place of "hot cakes" state so on menu. There's a big difference between Crepes and Hot Cakes. Also, next time, I'll take the sausage without the bone chip!
