The Pampered Pet carries supplies for reptiles, fish, birds, small animals, cats, and dogs, including a wide variety of high quality pet foods. We sell freshwater fish and feeders. We also offer grooming and boarding! Opt to adopt!

Story

A full-line pet store dedicate to well being of your pet. We also offer some boarding, and grooming. Our staff is amazing and always there to guide you through the best way to keep your pet safe, happy and healthy. We are also an active shelter, concerned with the over population problem that plagues our county and we strive everyday to help the animals in the area.

I go to pet stores often, when I walked into this place it smelled instantly. There were cats laying on the registers which is fine but they were dirty and looked sick. I'm all about having animals running around and climbing on things cause it's cute, but if they're sick that's leaves a potential to take that home to your pets. On top of that I spent 42$ in reptile heating lamps and bulbs to get home and realize they had higher watt bulbs than the fixture they sold me hold. So I took it to return it and the sales woman handed me the incorrect reciept because apparently they do "store credit only".. well when I'm from Ohio and leaving tonight to go back and wanted to get my money back for my items WITH ORIGINAL proof of purchase the manager tells me I have to use store credit only... That doesn't really work. So instead of a refund of any kind I had to pick out something more expensive and get charged a couple more dollars worth of stuff.. which their stuff is a couple dollars over the selling price of light fixtures anyway. I honestly wanted my money back to go get my money's worth from a chain pet store...

Staff was really nice but the store could use some cleaning, and they had dead fish just floating in their pond. But I loved all the kitties.

Friendly staff. They do care a lot about animals, not a bad thing. Just not a higher rating because they don't have too many items, and their prices are a little much.

I try to support local business wherever I can and had been enthusiastic when this place started up in its original location then moved to its current location. That changed the more I tried to interact with the business. Some, not all, of the ladies working here can be rude. Rather pompous in their belief that they're a knowledge base better than a veterinarian. Positive note: They DO care about animals and how animals are treated. Rescue and adoption are big positives over some places wanting to push out pure breed animals. Prices are inflated to the point where traveling to Manhattan may still be the cheaper option. Or just check online and have it delivered. I'd almost swear that they just order from a pet catalog I also get and just mark up the price. Definitely no low-mid priced common brand foods. My dog likes cat turds so forgive me if I don't feel the need to buy a 5lb bag of artisanal dog food for 25$. I'd say his taste are pretty base and I'll spend my money where I can find a reasonable balance between price/quality/quantity. Selection fluxes on various goods in these smaller stores and sometimes you can get a staff member that knows when an item you're after will be restocked. It's not that hard to teach your staff to know where to look for delivery schedules on regularly stocked items. Yes even small critters deserve a good home but you don't have to be a jerk about it. I watched twice as customers were turned away from making fish purchases because the customers sounded like newbies. Rather than take the business opportunity to educate the newbie (and potentially make more sales) the customers was just flat out told that they wouldn't sell the fish to them as the clerk walked away. One customer was wanting to add more fish to a small tank and the other was wanting a cheap pet for a small child. Not hard to understand why you'd be hesitant to sell them a pet, wouldn't have been difficult to explain to the customers either. I managed to talk to both, explained why I'd thought they'd been turned away and directed their business to a more helpful establishment. Both appreciated the input and understanding at my assumption of why they'd been denied service. So support this small business at your own risk. Good on you if you're getting the service you want or expect. But I tried several times and ended up being disappointed.
