Panguitch is the Paiute word for "big fish" and plenty of trout prowl Panguitch Lake 17 miles south of this high desert campground in the state's southwest corner. Cedar Breaks National Monument is 15 miles beyond the lake. Natural wonders abound in this region, including Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef and Zion national parks. Just three hours south is the north rim of the Grand Canyon. To the east, along Scenic Byway 12, is Kodachrome Basin State Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Panguitch KOA puts you close to it all. ATV, hiking and bike trails fan out from near the campground.
