Emergency Care physicians assistant did not use gloves, hand sanitizer, or wash hands during multiple hands-on exams of patient (in a nonurgent situation). No excuse for this. Other problems with PA.

Communication between staff is poor, leading to delays.  Paoli needs to implement better protocols and training.

For patients, I would recommend finding another ER.

This was probably the worst American emergency room experience , if that, in my entire life. I took myself in with chest pains and enlarged spleen and no one triaged me for an hour. Then a nurse came to waiting room to ask some questions and with my pain level if an 8, stated I'd have to keep waiting in the cold waiting room,  until a Dr could draw blood or meet with me. 90 minutes later sitting in cold AC waiting room, feeling worse by the minute, I left Paoli Emergency Room fearful I could be rupturing my spleen or having a heart attack and no one there would have even know. I've seen better treatment at animal shelters. This hospital should be ashamed of its lackluster intake of emergency patients walking in. #paolihospital

ER is lousy. I live a mile from this hospital, and if I can avoid their ER, I do. I've had 3 disappointing experiences there. One, a misdiagnosis by a doctor. I was sent home with a severe sore throat and high fever, with a script for an antibiotic and no help for pain. Turned out I had an abscess on my tonsil  that was potentially life threatening. 
The other two experiences were just a waste of time punctuated by attitude from the doctors on staff.  It is now staffed by doctors that don't think to highly of women. I will go elsewhere from now on.

My brother has been in Paoli Hospital for over a week and I am just amazed at the care he is receiving. The staff is VERY friendly and attentive, and his team of doctors are working hard to get to the bottom of his mystery disease. He has been in and out of Jefferson University Hospital for the past year +, but Jeff never took the time or made an honest effort to address his issues and also misdiagnosed him. I am so impressed with Paoli!

It was necessary for me to visit Paoli's ER on two separate occasions last week. The first visit was handled promptly and professionally. The staff was very attentive and competent. 
Two days later I returned late at night and expecting a long wait due to what I perceived would be a smaller attending staff. Dr. HORVATH handled my visit brilliantly. Not only did she set in motion her capable staff but she showed genuine interest and concern throughout my ER stay. 
It is very comforting to know that we have a Paoli ER in my area, especially when Dr. Horvath is in control!!
