Love this place I had a very hard time after my dad died and came to parrot mountain and seen a bird named George that is my Daddy name also now I keep coming back because I feel in love with that bird and some how she has helped me in so many ways to get through it. The staff was so friendly and talked with us about things to help us with our bird. Food is amazing also. Plan to have many trips to this friendly and amazing. Thank you all for sharing your piece of heaven with me my husband and 5 year old grandson.

Birds and Jesus. That's the gist of this place. Very friendly staff. Mostly parrots, but some other tropical birds are included as well. Best part is allowing visitors to get up close and personal with the birds. Some can be held or petted; a rarity. Plan on spending about an hour here. Oh, and fair warning: It's built on a steep slope. Might be hard for some folks to walk up and down--even a bit of a climb for your car!

Such a great experience! The staff were all very nice and helpful! It's our new favorite place to visit in the Smoky Mountains. I will add that it's not a great place for strollers or wheelchairs as it is on the side of the mountain and pretty much all hills. Overall it was an awesome experience though!

Really enjoyed our visit today. The birds are gorgeous and appear to be happy & healthy. The cages, enclosures and grounds are immaculately clean. Staff are pleasant, and knowledgeable. It was wonderful to hold and interact with several birds. No joke that it's up a mountain, so those with mobility issues may need to make plans for that challenge. Many of the birds are friendly and people-oriented so there is a lot of connection throughout the facility. 10/10 would go again. 10/10 recommend.

Place was a blast. My son kept wanting to walk around. There are birds everywhere. Even got in hello argument with one of them. Each of the birds is a rescue and most of friendly. There are a few that snap but they are clearly marked and do keep your hands away. One of the best part was the avary where you get to feed the birds nectar. They climb all you. Second best was the feeding area where you could feed the birds and pet them. Majority of them were friendly but again if they didn't want to be touched they let you know. There is also a baby bird section where you can pet baby birds and hold them. The cafeteria was very good and inexpensive.
