A very beautiful place. Tons of good hiking trails. Drive through the mountains is the prettiest of all. I would recommend downloading offline google maps for navigation as the network service is pretty unstable for most service providers. And as with all famous camping sites, book camping grounds early enough to secure a spot!

Me and my wife had a great time here. We only spent about 2 1/2 hrs and wished we had Allowed more time to hike trails. The month of September is rut season for elk l so we got to witness two bulls fighting. Very cool time!

Absolutely beautiful. Lavishly green woods and moss covered creeks with near rain forest growth. Deep valleys and crystal clear rivers. Plenty to do including extensive hiking trails, streams to float and fish, picnic spots, exhibits. Stunning in the autumn. Its size provides plenty of space for those who seek solitude but roads get crowded during peak visitation.

There are so many options of places to hike it's amazing! I did a few hikes over 10 miles that were great and I did a few less than 3 miles that were great! You can even just drive around and see the sights if you don't want to walk around. I highly suggest it to any nature lover. There's also a great chance of seeing wildlife. I saw a bear today.

Originally Cherokee homeland, America’s most-visited national park first opened in 1940 and covers some 520,000 acres of protected Tennessee and North Carolina forestland that’s bisected by the Appalachian Trail. Whether hiking Chimney Tops (or any of the 800 miles of trails) or driving the super-scenic U.S. Highway 441, visitors are sure to get an eyeful of the mystical haze that inspired the park’s name. To escape the crowds, park ranger Caitlin Worth recommends heading to Balsam Mountain Road, a high-elevation gravel road accessible from the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
