I had been feeling bad for about 3 months. Had this persistent cough, nausea and occasionally just feeling terrible. So I called Dr. Martin and made an appointment. This was my first visit ever with her. She is very good at diagnosing. She said it was acid reflux and wrote me a prescription. Sure enough this is my second day on the medication and I havent felt better in 3 months. Thank you Dr. Martin!!!! By the way, when you go to her office TURN YOUR CELL OFF, she did not like mine chirping while she was working. I get it that....just kind of funny. She is tough but good....she cares about people. I read some reviews where they said Dr. Martin is rude...she isn't, she is just right to the point and no non-sense.

After considering my own experience with dr. Martin and my experience with her staff my review is less than great.Dr Martin herself was not very personable, but that is not my issue. I was a new patient that came in for 2 specific reasons: breathing issues and a referral for physical therapy. After spending abt 15 mins with the "nurse" explaining all of my health history, i had to repeat it again for dr. Martin. Still, not a big deal. Dr. Martin DID spend adequate time w me as a new patient, but i still did not receive ANY medical diagnosis for my breathing issues other than a stethoscope on my chest..but no other words concerning this problem. She did however spend alot of time asking me questions abt my past health (which i DID appreciate ), inquiring of my past primary, n OTHER health issues i have had/have..but still not the main issue i came in for. Dealing w Dr. Martin is not a bed of roses for sure, but definitely not a bed of glass either. Dr martin is ok...u just need to have a thick skin and understand shes a no nonsense type of doctor..yet she can warm up. You just need to know how to take her. Again, this review is based off of my ONE visit with her. Not ALL doctors communicate well, perhaps she mite need a refresher course on that aspect..but still, i have to be fair based upon my visit. Yes, reading the other reviews the staff is "nice" but NICE doesnt mean efficient, timely and responsible. The office staff is the lifeline to correspondance with other doctors you may need records from, M.R.I.s u need faxed over to ensure YOUR referrals to physical therapy in a MORE than timely manner, follow up phone calls to the patient/ previous doctors to let them know progress in these matters n most of all: to not drop the ball in the 11th hour after having to reschedule 2 separate times for procedures you desperately need done. These are the issues i have with the front office. After NUMEROUS phone calls made by ME (progress was made, just not in the time frame i needed after almost 2 weeks of waiting.) After they finally received the paperwork needed for my referall to physical therapy.-(BY MY OWN CALLS TO THE PLACES TO GET IT SENT, THE DAY OF MY PHYS THER APPT)..i was told i had to wait another 2 weeks until i saw the doctor to receive that referall when it shld hv alrdy been done. I went beyond just "the patient" n became liaison between dr.martin, pain management, medstar and novacare. While i got things done, it became a severe HASSLE and i still came out on the short end. In closing this review, I would recommend definitely reading ALL of the other reviews and base your choice of dr. Martin carefully. But at the end of the day, she herself was "okay" but the office as a whole, to me, would be a back up plan if no other doctors were available.

I really thought I was doing the right thing being closer to home ,Against all the odds of leaving a Dr that new everything about me to someone new was hard ,But I had a serious situation on my hands , so I went for the change , I go in and Recp, was very nice and helpful really really nice , I'm thinking great I'm good, I get in back and of course paper work talking to one girl about everything , to have her leave out, for another nurse comes in and I'm talking and explaining everything again , to WOW HERE COMES DR MARTIN FINALLY, ,now I'm still in the middle of the whole story of my serious situation WITH NURSE and doctor just starts picking up my Bottles and like what do u have this for "" confused "", to start in on looking at my bottles of meds like why this -why that",, WE ARE ASKED TO PULL OUT ALL ARE MEDS WEATHER SHE HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM OR NOT , WELL I DO HAVE ADHD ,AND ON TOP OF OTHER ISSUES - AT THIS POINT IM AGERVATED CAUSE I HAVE THIS SERIOUS SITUTATION GOING ON, AND SHE STOPS THE WHOLE CONVERSATION WITH NURSE AND IV LIKE NOT EVEN LISTENING,- I STOP THE DOCTOR TO SAY WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO TALK ABOUT FIRST, THE SITUTATION THAT WAS BEING DISCUSSED ALREADY OR MY LIFE HISTORY AND MY FREAKIN MEDS , SO SHE'S THINKING SORRY SAID I HAVE HIGH ANIXITY WHICH I ALREADY NO , BUT TO JUDGE ME WAS ALREADY IN PLAY , SO SHE SEEN THE FRUSTRATION , AND WENT TO TAKE A SKIN SAMPLE THAT HURT LIKE HELL , , THEN TO LEAVE FROM THE ROOM TO WRITE AN ANTIBIOTIC, IM LAUGHING MAD AT THIS POINT , SHE CAME BACK IN TO TELL ME NOW IS THIS EVEYTHING , ( TALKING ABOUT THE MEDS AGAIN ) I SAID WHY WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH MY MEDS , WHAT ABOUT MY SITUTATION , SHE TELLS ME I NEED COUNSELING A SYCO DOC, TO GET MY MEDS REGULATED HAHAHAH UM IV BEEN DOING THAT FOR YRS AND TAKING SAME MEDS SINCE 2006, SO A 15 MIN VISIT WITH HER FOR A SERIOUS INFECTED SKIN AREA, - SHE IS TELLING ME ABOUT I NEED TO CALM DOWN AND NEED TO REGULATE MY MEDS , IM HEATED AND STILL HURTING AND AGERVATED STILL ,SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT MY HISTORY NOTHING ABOUT SURGERYS NOTHING ABOUT ME AT ALL OR WHAT OTHER DOCTORS I ALREADY SEE --, BUT THAT IM SITTING THERE FOR SOMETHING THAT COULD BE LIFE THREATENING TO COME TO FIND OUT , IT COULD HAVE WENT TO MY BLOOD STREAM AND DIED or been really sick , SO NOT ONLY HER IRRATING THE SKIN AREA THAT NEEDED FULL ATTENTION , SHE TELLS ME NOTHING AFTER OR EVEN WALKING OUT THE DOOR . I WENT BACK IN AND SAID DONT I SET UP ANOTHER APPT A FOLLOW UP UM WHAT ABOUT THE FAMILY DOCTOR KNOWING ME AND TALKING TO ME , INSTEAD OF ASSUMING, IT BURNED ME UP NOW IM ON WAY TO HOSPITAL BECAUSE SHE OPENED THE THE INFECTED AREA WHEN IT NEEDED CLEANED DRAINED AND PACKED BUT SLAPPED A BANDADE ON IT , AND GIVEN ANTIBIOTIC O AND I DID GET THE INHALER I DO HAVE SOME OF THAT LEFT ,BUT I WAS LEFT TO WALK OUT KNOWING NOTHING BUT THAT A SAMPLE IS BEING SENT OFF , MY MEDS ARE NONE OF YOUR BUISNESS AT THIS POINT AND TIME , THERE NOT FOR YOU TO WRITE SO ITS NOT YOUR WORRY NOW THE MEDS THAT WERE HER CONCERN I GOT A INHALER A BANDADE AND ANTIBIOTIC KNOWING I NEEDED MAYBE A REFIL.ON 2 OTHERS AND SENT OUT THE DOOR, ITS FUNNY I WAS TOLD TO SEEK COUNSLING TO REGULATE MY MEDS I THINK BETWEEN SEVERAL DOCTORS I ALREADY SEE AND YRS of GOING, I THINK THEY NO WHAT THERE DOING SO AS A FAMILY DOCTOR THERE WAS NO HELP TO ME AT ALL, I THINK ANYONE GOING IN WITH A CRICISIS is going to be upset and anxiety high cause IV never felt this before , all the answers and comments were very snappy,I couldn't believe my meds was her whole concerned , that she didn't have to write,,the SITUTATION at hand was what should Have been addressed in a better manner talked to me about it all, tell me what to do next ,tell me when u want to see me again,NONE OF THAT I NEEDED TO GET THIS OUT CAUSE I'M VERY DISTURBED ON WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT , THAT I HAVE CHANGED MY INS CARD NAME TO GETbit changed back , I HAVE tO WAIT 20 DAYS UNDER REVIEW BEFORE CHANGING , WITCH I'LL BE ACCEPTED , FOR THE SIMPLE REASON I WASNT HAPPY WITH THE WAY I WAS TREATED,I do have to go back,shw,scared SINCERELY A PATIENT RIGHT NOW

Dr. Martin has been my doctor for 2 years now. She takes a no nonsense, common sense approach to treating you. if you need a medicine she will recommend it. But she is not a pill pusher. Today I had a minor problem that could have become more serious if left unattended. She resolved it. I am very pleased with the way she has helped me these last 2 years and do not plan on going anywhere else. Dr. Martin, thank you for your skill and for your faithfulness to your profession.

Been her patient for over 2 yrs.... very please... professional, honest and friendly staff... glad she's my primary doctor... yes!!! I recommend her
