Dr.Reitman was not a good Dr. First and for most he was always late and/or forgot about appointments! This was an inconvenience to me since my drive to his office was almost an hr. During my visits with him he liked to put words into my mouth and would say one thing but do another. I thought he was SHADY and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. He tried to (pin) my supportive mother against me and tried to corrupt our relationship. Several times when I would call Dr.Reitman he would answer his phone as (Dr.Wrongman how can I help you). This came off really unprofessional to me as a client. My recommendation to anyone that desires to see a (QUACK DR)- please feel free to go see him but if I were you I wouldn’t! In my personal opinion he is an IDIOT and should not be practicing as Therapist. I think he got his license in a crackerjack box!!!!! Very unreliable,unprofessional,and a waste of time and money!! Please seek out another therapist if I were you!!!! Dr Reitman is a nice guy, but my wife’s and my experience with him was pretty disappointing. He was very accommodating of our struggling budget, when it turned out our insurance was unable to pay for his services, in that he offered to work with us for a significantly reduced fee (which we accepted), but when the rubber hit the road to actually make use of his services he was unable to really determine anything useful in his assessment of our child (my stepson, but my wife’s son with a previous abusive ex). And then there were some other issues… When we started with Dr Reitman, he assured us that he would be able to determine if this man (my wife’s ex and her son’s father) was a psycho or narcissist or abusive, but after a number of sessions with him, and when presented with an overwhelming amount of written evidence from the history, he acknowledge this man is narcissistic, manipulative, and abusive, but he refused to “take sides” and help us stop this man from abusing the court system and using his relationship with their son to continue harassing and emotionally abusing my wife - instead just continually insisting that we all needed more therapy with him to co-parent better. What was even more disturbing was that he repeatedly got his facts wrong and in some cases completely misinformed us, but made it seem like we were the ones getting it wrong. He allowed us to record his sessions, and he also left us a couple of voicemails. I was able to use some of these recordings to show him directly that he had got his facts wrong but he continued to insist his memory was correct and our information was wrong. Dr Reitman, if you’re reading this I would be more than happy to discuss this with you and if this was just a one off bad couple or months for your, or this is some other anomaly, and if we can correct the situation, I’d be happy to adjust this review, but at this point, the above is what I believe to be an accurate assessment of how our time with you went. What also concerns me that before we hired you we were unable to find any other reviews on any sites except one (that I can’t find again now), and that one said more or less the same things. After meeting you the first time, you were very persuasive and supportive, so I didn’t want to believe that one single review and instead gave you a chance. I wish your support when we really needed it in the court room was in line with what you presented to us at the start. We have had to start the process all over with someone else, and we are finding that person to be more in touch with reality. As nice a guy as Dr Reitman is, unfortunately I for one, can’t recommend his services at this point.
