Nancy Warner founded Pennington Dance which offered dance classes for 36 years & Pilates since 2002. Today Nancy only teaches private Pilates apparatus classes & small group mat classes. She is Romana's Pilates certified & a Level IV Teacher Trainer.
Nancy Warner is founder/director/owner of Pennington Dance which opened in 1979 and offered dance classes for 36 years and Pilates instruction since 2002. Currently the school only offers classical Pilates instruction.
Nancy Warner, Romana's Pilates Certified Teacher and Level IV Teacher-Trainer, offers basic-advanced classical Pilates private apparatus and semi-private mat class instruction for all ages/body types/issues. The studio uses Gratz equipment including reformer, cadillac, ladder barrel, electric/high chair, baby/arm chair, wunda chair, pedi-pole, spine corrector, small barrels/arcs, foot corrector, toe corrector, breath-a-cizer, and sandbag. Work also includes magic circle and arm weights.
Nancy began Pilates instruction with her mentor, Level II master teacher, Anthony Rabara in the late 1980's. She continues to train with him and teach at the Anthony Rabara Studio for Pilates in Princeton NJ. Nancy trained with all four Level 1 Grand master teachers - Romana Kryzanowska - Joseph Pilates' protege, Romana's daughter -Sari Mejia Santo, Juanita Lopez and Cynthia Lochard - who collectively choose her to join the Romana's Pilates teacher training staff as a Level IV teacher trainer. Nancy has also studied with Level II instructors: Romana's granddaughter - Daria Pace, Cynthia Shipley, Jerome Weinberg, Trish Garland, Lori Coleman-Brown, Level III instructor, Jamie Trout, and Pilates on 66th owner, Victoria Torrie.
Pennington Dance background: Pennington Dance offered ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, and African dance classes. The school's highly qualified caring professionals offered individualized hands-on instruction in an nurturing, collaborative environment so that students could take risks to reach their highest creative potential. Nancy founded the Pennington Dance Company, a non-competitive program open to all students interested in performing or choreographing. The company performed for the benefit of local assisted living facilities, senior centers, orphanages, the Pennington Business and Professional Association Holiday Walk, Pennington Day, the Lambertville Shad Festival, and county and state Teen Arts Festival. Nancy created numerous dance and Pilates workshops for the Hopewell Valley School District.
Nancy trained with Jacques D'Amboise in his National Dance Institute Teacher training program and for several years served on the artistic staff at the Trenton Education Dance Institute, an NDI affiliate.
Nancy founded and ran a non-profit hunger foundation, Black Ebony Loquat for over a decade. In 2005 she combined forces with a Pennington Dance colleague who also ran a non-profit humanitarian program to take students and alumni to Nairobi, Kenya to share American dance forms and work in the Kibera slum community offering nutrition, health and AIDs education programs.
In addition to dance and humanitarian work, Nancy has training in t'ai chi (with Susanna DeRosa) and yoga science (through the Himalayan Institute).
