This is an art treasure, that has supported and proudly displayed controversial of Artists of the times. For example,Thomas Eaken's,circa 1900. To this very day, they display, controversial artists. Many of them, are non-white. Theiir school, even now, is at least;as important-as their museums. Don't miss the annual displays,of the current PFA student.

A fun to walk pedestrian street. Amuse the street arts including a giant paint brush and crashed airplane with plants growing in the cockpit. Kids will have chance to explore and get excited and stop asking are we there yet.

Another great museum in Philadelphia. Pafa museum frequently exhibits national and international artists; however, it's mission is dedicated to archive, preserve, and highlight Pennsylvanian artists. Located just across from the Philadelphia Convention Center and easily accessible by public transportation. If the Public Transportation give you the heebie jeebies, there are many parking lots and garages near the museum. But, prepare to give your arm and a leg to park your car. During my recent visit to see Chuck Close exhibition, I notice that they don't have security guards to protect the art work from inquisitive visitors, you know who you are, always testing to crossing the invisible boundaries from the work of art. Anyway, they replaced uniform personnel with casually dressed, iPad toting docents; I kind of like the idea of having a trained art historian there to protect and promote the arts. TIP: The Museum offers free admission or discounts if you are a member of listed institutions such as colleges, Universities, and museums.

Lived in the Philly area my whole life, and just made it here recently. It's a beautiful building and the arts not too bad either! One thing to be aware of, though. The building relies on a lot of natural light, which made a whole lot of art difficult to see because of glare without the sun. Just be aware and try and visit on a sunny day.

Didn't go for the school, but for a friend's senior thesis. Overall the show was very nice, and I've heard good things about their other events.
