This museum is only a year old, so it still has that new-museum smell...they've done a good job. Well-researched, if a bit sparse on actual exhibits. They have some good films, and a staffer in period costume (that was informative) and George Washington's actual tent. Everyone was quite friendly and willing to answer questions. The gift shop wasn't remarkable; in my opinion, they could have a better selection of books and less of the tired stuff you see in most museums.

This museum is worth a visit. The collection is varied which makes each section worth visiting. They had very helpful descriptions of each item which enhanced the experience. The final room one visits is in an auditorium which houses George Washington's war tent. It is amazing when one considers its age. The story that accompanies the reveal of the tent is quite informative. I would also recommend you start by viewing the preview video on the first floor before you tour the collection. That video assists in explaining the sections of the museum and puts it all in context. I highly recommend this museum.

This is a thoroughly modern museum, the tech is top notch and the styling is beautiful. I gave this museum 4 stars strictly because of the crowds. I'm beyond pleased that so many people are drawn to study history, but it was difficult to read everything without having my toes squashed and waiting in line to read a simple sign got old fast.

So cool I took my mom and dad here in the fall. My dad is a big history nut and I would go as far as calling him an expert on the American Revolution. He has travelled all over the northeast for reenactments and he loved it. This place is so clean and it is sate of the art with its technological advancements. They have the Washington's tent exhibit and even I teared up when I witnessed it. I highly recommend a nice day trip to visit here if you're in Philly.

NOT WORHT THE COST It is quite pricey for what it has to offer. Certainly not worth the cost in my opinion. It has a very limited amount of authentic artifacts and seems more like an information building than a museum. While it is constructed nicely and has a lot of information, I was very disappointed considering tickets were more than $19 a piece. For the price, I could have read everything AND watched the films online.
