Very clean store. The recent change in the layout is interesting, but seems to be working for them. Almost always have what I'm looking for in stock. Hopefully the brand of LED lights changes because the current brand (Pilot) doesn't last very long under normal use. I could advise on something's, but I'm not "qualified" for it.

I keep going back here because it's cheaper than the dealership, but honestly this place is a mess. A few years ago, I had a routine state inspection done here - they told me all of my rear lights were out (which seemed improbable since I'd just driven back through multiple states the night before) but everything else was fine. A week later I went back to have them look at the front end because of a grinding noise, and twice they found nothing. A week after that, my drivers side brake pad flew off while I was driving. Several months back, I ordered tires and had them installed here because they had the best price. Made my appointment...was called to come in an hour or two earlier than the time I selected, so I did...and then had to wait nearly four hours just for tires to be put on. They said they couldn't find the tires I ordered even though they were in stock, and then when they'd found them...I guess they just got to it when they got to it? When I left, they'd left greasy paper mats in my car and the tech obviously had grease on his hands when he was in the car, but stuff happens so I didn't think too much of it. Now, I've been sitting here over an hour waiting for a simple state inspection...and they haven't even pulled my car into a bay yet. When I got here at 1:45, there was one person waiting. My appointment was for 2pm. It's now almost 3:30 and I was just told they haven't gotten to it yet because they're just so busy. I understand that things happen and perhaps they're understaffed, but why am I making an appointment to sit here for over an hour without anyone even moving my car into a bay? Why not just tell me it's going to be a while and they may not get to it for an hour or two? Why not tell me hey, we know you made an appointment, but appointments don't matter here so we'll get to it when we get to it? I'm giving them two stars because the service desk employees are mostly pleasant and polite, and their prices are decent, and that's about it.

One of the worst experience this past December that I have ever had. Will never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone else. Had a 11 am appointment to replace brakes, oil change and to test the alternator. Was the last one out at 7:50 pm. "Mechanic" attempted to hammer into place incorrectly sized brake shoes for hours. Someone must have finally suggested to use a different set.

I scheduled an appointment for a state inspection at 12:00pm today using the online system. I was pretty excited they had the time to fit me in at 12 because I needed to do this during my lunch break from work. When I arrived at the service desk, I was greeted by Melissa. She was very nice, but asked me when I had booked my appointment because I was not on her list. I told her that I had made my appointment around 9:00am; I even brought the confirmation with me just in case something like this happened. Melissa told me that they would not be able to do my inspection for at least an hour and 40 minutes. I was shocked! I asked why that would happen if I had scheduled an appointment. She told me that the online system just sees that they have 11 bays open, so it allows people to schedule anything during that time frame as long as there is an open bay, but the system doesn't understand that they only have one inspector, that he is busy with other inspections, and will not have time to get to mine until 2:00pm. She asked if I wanted to wait, but I told her that was not an option since I had to get back to work and I had no other way of getting back to work without my car. Melissa did offer to schedule me for an appointment tomorrow and guaranteed that the 12:00pm appointment would be mine. I did schedule the appointment because I need to have my inspection done, but I wish someone from Pep Boys had called me to let me know that the inspector would be busy. From what I can gather, the online booking schedule was not checked from the time I created my appointment to the time I walked in the door. If they had checked it, I would like to think that someone would have called to let me know that there was going to be a delay with my appointment. I am hoping my appointment goes smoothly tomorrow, but for now I have to rate my satisfaction as a 1 start.

I dropped my car off an hour and a half ago for inspection. They said that is how long it would take. When I came back my car was in the same place I parked it and the door was unlocked, meaning they probably checked the odometer and forgot to lock it. What if I had something stealable in my car? When I went inside and asked why my car was not done yet, they looked it up in the system and seemed very confused. They went out back while I waited more and then told me I had to wait 20 more minutes so they could get it in. I had an appointment for 1pm, so why is it almost 3pm and it has not been seen? They were relatively nice though so that is why they got 2 stars versus 1 star.
