Stopped in the Fort Myers store. I found what o was looking for then went to the register. The girl running the register had to run to the back to help the customer in front of me. But there were three others at another register doing what sounded like checking there work schedule. Then I heard one say who has back up register. Then no one said anything. You know people on lunch have a limited time to shop and they want to discuss there up coming schedule. How about working now? 1 helpful employee out of 4. This is sad.

I went for cat food and had a few questions about what food is best for my cat. The 16 year old gum smacking employee was too busy having a conversation with her friends (who dropped in) about a fellow employee who was obviously NOT in the store, (based on the topics being discussed) to notice me. When I actually had to raise my voice to attract her attention, she made it clear I was interrupting her. She had no real answers other than "you need to read the label". That was difficult as my vision is impaired. I left the store and went to a competitor a few miles North and had attentive employees there. Shame on this store for not educating their staff. ALL THEY SELL IS PET SUPPLIES, it not like there are 67 different departments. The store is never busy over the 3+ years that I have frequented the store. Not too hard to figure out why.

MAGGOTS BEWARE. My family had the displeasure to deal with this establishment today. I have never written a review before (because I generally have better things to do) however, this experience was just to gruesome not to share. My dad went into Pets Supermarket to purchase "popcorn" dog treats for our three shihtzus. They have been eating these treats for years! (They are super picky pups so when we find treats they like it's a miracle!) Anyway, after he makes the purchase, we get home and start transferring the treats from the cardboard box they come in, to a glassware treat bowl that sits on our counter. Astonishingly enough, we discovered a handful of maggots on our counter which were coming out of the box. We drove back to Pets Supermarket located off College parkway in fort Myers, and showed the manager on duty, what stomache churning event just occurred. The woman (so called manager) with medium length dark hair, offered to give our money back. My dad asked if she could compensate for our troubles and give us the Popcorn treats which come in the visible plastic container, as opposed to the cardboard boxes (because at the end of the day- we were just trying to get treats our fur babies love) and the unprofessional woman on duty said "nope can't do that". There was no remorse or empathy for the nauseating experience, NOR did she feel the need to exchange the dog treats. In my opinion- that is not very managerial, now is it?. She will likely throw the maggot filled boxes or treats in the trash, and no one will be notified. WHO knows how many other boxes are INFESTED with maggots, and who knows if it will be dealt with appropriately. I feel bad for the other customers who purchased treats from Pets Supermarket off college parkway and 41, in Fort Myers FL, and may be giving there animals maggot infested treats. Shop somewhere else! Don't feed your animals bugs!

Very reasonable prices, huge selection of dog food. Limited bird selection, however, especially if you have a large bird. They are open 7 days a week and the staff is exceptionally helpful.
