NEVER AGAIN. We've been shopping here for about a year since we got a betta fish...first bad experience: I bought a siphon vacuum to clean our aquarium and the hose had a 1/2 inch cut in it. Second bad experience: the "fish expert" told us to feed our betta 3 pellets every other day and that was terrible advice as we realized our betta was starving. 
Now this is where it gets ridiculous. Recently we adopted a dog. Since getting the dog, I've had to return THREE items to this Petco in less than TWO WEEKS. First, it was a dog bed that was just terrible quality and I knew it wouldn't last. Then we purchased a harness to use on the dog and even asked the Petco employee to inspect it and see if it would fit him before purchasing, took it home and found that it did not. And today was the last straw. My husband and I went there to return the second item (the harness) and while there I purchased some treats and then we left. Came home and went to put the treats in our treat jar and saw that they had EXPIRED 5 MONTHS AGO!!! Outrageous. I shouldn't have to check the date but man I wish I had! And on top of all that, the Petco rewards have been a nightmare. When we went to use our $10 in rewards last week (you have to load them onto your account, they don't go on their automatically.....and I DID load them) the employee told me that there were no rewards. So done with this place. I'll be taking my business to "Bark!" in Annapolis from now on!

Best grooming service around! Stephanie and Meghan always take great care of my beagle Lucy. It’s hard to find a grooming place that doesn’t get water in her ears. I also love the sugar cookie spritzer they put on her but unfortunately, they only have it around the holidays

Petco sold me a sick tarantula. She had no fangs due to overfeeding. I know this because petco's policy is to feed their animals everyday regardless of species. This is animal abuse for animals like tarantulas because feeding a tarantula after a fresh molt causes damage to their still soft fangs. Time must be given for their fangs to harden after a molt. They insisted I bring the tarantula back through 18 degree weather and snow for their vet to look at her. I did not do this as the shock and stress could kill her. Besides their is nothing the vet could do other than tell me to keep her alive till next molt. Their is a good chance this tarantula now must starve... without her fangs she cannot eat... They will try to say anything to sell you their slower selling exotics. Most of the staff are not knowledgeable about their animals and will regurgitate online forum tips to you, but insult your intelligence when you reference common knowledge or advice from experts. When confronted about their abusive policy to feed their pets everyday they become very silent. They might as well said "no comment". Their exotics are wild caught, so their health is questionable and their life spans short. It's common knowledge that buying captive bred exotics is the more sensible and animal/eco friendly way to purchase. Their staff can be snippy and rude and I don't think anyone can be a true "animal person" when they work for a company that has been caught so many times doing such ridiculous things such as throwing away live animals in the trash. For anything besides cats and dogs and related services, stay far far far away from petco.

Nicest fish selection I have ever seen at any Petco. Good service as well. I would recommend to anyone.
