Went here and wanted the price of one of the puppies. The girl told me she wasn't allowed to give the price without us playing with the dog first so I told her we wanted to play with it and she said she had to have an ID to play with it which I had left mine out in the car because I wasn't sure I would be buying anything since I just wanted to look at the dogs. They won't sell much if they won't give prices. The girl told us she would "lose her job" if she gave us the price of a puppy without taking it out to play first.

My husband and I took our kids to Petland in Terre Haute Indiana a few months ago to check out the puppies. We ended up falling in love with a male Saint Bernard. He was marked down quite a bit but we just thought it was our lucky day. We buy him and all the junk they said we needed to have. About a month and a half later at the vet we find out that he has hip dysplasia and there’s nothing that can be done because of his age. Vet told us this is a sign of inbreeding in the breed. We have yet to get anyone to resolve this issue for us. I will NEVER return. Prices are outrageous. All the puppies look sad and it’s obvious they are not being vetted or else thus issue would of been found. Awful awful place.

I am only giving this place 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. Petland gets their puppies from mills, does not provide proper care for their animals and rips people off with their prices. Do not support this evil business. They choose to delete and block my comments on this topic instead of facing the truth and doing the right thing.

I've been a customer for years but this will leave my last visit, and I say this because of the staff. I've been in the store many times but today I decided to bring out a German Shepherd male puppy. I understand that puppies are known for chewing. However there is a big difference between chewing and biting. This dog was very active in the beginning and was chewing in that was not an issue. It became an issue when chewing turn to biting and drew blood from my arm my friends arm and tore a hole in my shirt. The response from the staff I feel is less than adequate because the only response I got back from the staff attendant (heavly clad in makeup, they don't wear name tags)  was oh that's a puppy and puppies do that. The issue is my friend is small, shes 90lbs 4'11. If this had been a child it would be inexcusable. Petland do better. Children and other customers are at risk and noone will buy a dog if they are vicious.

My granddaughter loves to go here just to look at the pets and get into a small cubicle and hold and play with the puppies. They seem to take very good care of their animals.
