Me and a friend were going to get hamsters today, did not go good at all. First, we asked a lady to see them, she said she would get someone, 10 minutes later we see her talking to people and laughing, so much help. Finally got someone to help us, she was very kind. We went to check out and my VISA wasn't working, the lady started yelling at us, really makes me want to go back there... Still going back tomorrow, hopefully she's not there.

Yesterday, i went to this store to get a few cichlids to add to my new 29. Ive done heaps of research and i am a fairly experienced fishkeeper. I asked for 3. A black convict, a jack dempsey, and a peacock. I know from experience that it is best to overstock a cichlid tank to calm their aggression, and also that a cichlid is a cichlid no matter what lake its from and when in the right conditions under proper care, its okay to mix lakes (if you know what youre doing, of course). To say the least the employee told me that i couldnt have my peacock because she doesnt know much about cichlids. I explained to her that i know what I am doing, I know a lot about cichlids. She argued with me about my stocking advice, which really set me off. She told said that she had never kept cichlids, but from what she knows, thats what she can do. I have severe anxiety and when people argue with me, it triggers panic attacks. Needless to say, she was polite, however did not need to reject me of my purchase when she has zero experience keeping cichlids. If you want fish, or are interested in starting a tank, go to Benson's right down the road. They are all well informed, polite and experienced people.

The last time that i was in this store i was cashing out and the woman behind me was letting the dog she had with her pull her and smell at my pants, and rub my leg. I made eye contact and stepped away, the staff behind the counter told me not to worry, the dog is hers and it is friendly. There are many reasons that someone might not want to pet a dog beside its behavior. Had this been a customer of the store i would not have let it impact my rating but i think that its important that the staff is aware that no matter the attitude of the dog the comfort and preference of the customer is important. I found the small animal supply selection at this PetSmart to be "bare-bones" the bedding options were very limited as were the treats. The fish do seem to be well cared for however i cannot recall a time ive been in this store and not seen a dead hermit crab.
