GOING OUT IN PDX CAN SOMETIMES MAKE ME FEEL AS IF THE APOCALYPSE HAS ALREADY HAPPENED Went to the movie theater there last night to see Black Panther, which is generally my least favorite theater downtown b/c you sort of HAVE to park in a big garage & we've tended to "lose the car", in the past. Not last night! BF planned carefully. Now, I don't shop much at all b/c since moving to Portland from NYC three years ago, my previously in-demand and well-paid skills have been deemed non existent, but we were noting how, at 6pm, there didn't seem to be ANY shoppers! Seriously if you want privacy while shopping this place is for you! I know that online shopping has taken over, even if I can't see how people can possibly select clothes (if they don't already know the brand) via Amazon. But I'd read some story recently about this being a still viable mall. It looks like a huge, pleasant money pit to me! Also, if your downtown doesn't have a Macy's, is it really a downtown? Move theater was equally uncrowded, which was nice. When you can walk in 5min before showtime & get your favorite seats, in the middle of the row before the little fence thing & you can put your feet up - brilliant!

I remember when this Mall opened up back in the 80s, I believe it was. It was so nice and full of promise. The exterior of the building was an attraction of itself. I'm sure it had its Heyday for about 20 years but it lost its bridge to Saks Fifth Avenue in that store closed. Even with the addition with movie theater plays this is simply not a destination Mall anymore. It's actually rather depressing with the number of retail slots open for lease. Even the food court was less than half rented what it was last open. They've been trying to revive it by telling us of this great New Concept that's coming to the food area, but it seems to be taking forever to be finished. I'm actually starting to wonder if this whole mall is going under. It does have some high end stores like coach here, but they're putting so many coach stores up there no longer special. Best get your butt over to H&M I'll pick up some clothes that will stay in fashion at least until the following Tuesday.

One of our stops every time we visit Portland only because location is in the heart of downtown. 2nd floor has upper crust atmosphere. 1st and 3rd are more our flavor. In all this mall is worth it. Plenty of store selections, layout is small enough and navigable. Comfortable is the word I'll type here. Very clean, extremely easy to navigate through. Not the huge mall of Lloyd center, which is welcomed. Some malls are just too big when all you have is an hour or slightly more time to shop. While still wanting to take your time. Although Lloyd center dies have more stores and the food choices are very hard to beat. ! Sum it all up. Pioneer Place is a cool go to for boutique stores and other lesser fair in a pinch. Good mall to peruse your shopping curiosities.

I have been coming to Pioneer Place for years. It is always bright and clean, despite the weather. The stores here are usually top-tier and the staff is always helpful. This is a great place to meet up with a group of people to spend some time and make plans. An afternoon can easily disappear while window shopping and checking out the new styles.

The Main shopping mall at the heart of downtown Portland. Has just about everything you’d expect, from apparel, restaurants, fast food, and a movie theater. The two buildings are connected via a “sky bridge” as well as an underground corridor that runs under the street. As of this posting the food court is still in a partial remodel, will try to update when that is over, Convenient (paid) underground parking garage, typically has plenty of spaces available.
