Full Disclosure: I am using a fake name! However, I became a member of Planet Fitness Natick, MA 3 weeks ago. I am a real 68 year old male! I don’t understand the negative reviews. Every machine I have used there operates the way it should. That tells me they are well maintained. The staff is friendly. Other members seem happy and friendly too. Being a neophyte to a gym when I start using a machine I am not familiar with other members have happily showed me how with no prompting from me. The place is always clean. There are paper towels and cleansing stations throughout. While I am physically fit, I want to become stronger. This is the place I have chosen to reach this objective.

It's ok for the price. Not the best gym in town, no classes or baby sitting service, also doesn't have much free weights. If you are really into the gym don't come here, if you have been sitting in the office for 8 plus hours and need to get a quick cardio/light lifting session in for like an hour or so then $10 a month won't kill you so join up.

Equipment Broken, Rusty, and Outdated I joined Planet Fitness for the convenience of locations throughout the Northeast. I have been to at least 15 different gyms in NH, VT, W-NY, Upstate NY, and MA. Every one of them is fresh and clean, updated, and employs a friendly and helpful staff. With one exception - The Natick location is without doubt the worst of the worst. The equipment is literally falling apart, outdated and rusting. Free weights are chipped and loose on the bar. "Smith" Racks/Machines are wobbly and rusted. Machines haven't been lubricated in years, offer frayed belt driven pulleys. and the seats are broken/missing parts. The locker room smells worse than any hockey arena locker room I have ever been in....and that is saying something. The staff of one sits in a corner on her phone every morning that I arrive and depart(3-4x per week, M-F) - never looks up. The ONLY reason that I go here is that it is close to my office and my desire to workout supersedes my aversion to this gas-station bathroom of a gym. So the one star is for it's captive audience location. Otherwise this gym would receive no stars and should be avoided. Planet Fitness Corporate should review this location personally to decide it if meets their franchise agreement standards - if they exist.

Good enough gym for anyone who just wants a good place to workout, clean looker room, equipment and amenities as well
