I have been going there for years & their professionalism has always been up to par! Now every one expects millions for some thing these guys have to judge by market value & their clear judgement it's a BUSINESS and they cannot place value on emotional value! Now I can say all the floor guys are one of the coolest people I've met and have had laughs always placing my visits on the bright side even if I've been down & out on my luck these guys make the transaction & outcome always to my benefit where I say I been to many PAWN SHOPS and they are by farthest the BEST HANDS DOWN👇🏼and I been to many around the Bay Area and rate them 1# this is not SAKS FITH AVE this is a place of business and find it to be a very welcoming place and would refer anyone that I know to them! In the past, I have known about this place for a million years or so, maybe even went in with a friend or two to get some xtra cash from some scrap pieces of gold. I always felt nervous and basically embarrassed to be there, until the present day... When my mom died and i was faced with a ton of responsibilies I couldnt afford to mess up I found myself heading to coin and jewelry ALOT! I can see how the already nervous feeling one may have going into the shop could lead you to think that the guys who run the place are a bunch of jerks. Keep in mind they aren't there to analyze your life, they are there to get you thru it, temporarily and of coarse financially. What started for me to be a place I could borrow money to get me thru my tough times, has turned into a place my kid and I turn to not only for a loan but to check in with some of the best "shrinks" in the business. Dont be fooled by theyre "smugness" they just buy and sell a part of your life, on a daily basis and have seen and heard a thing or two from every situation ever known to man. I'd be called a lot worse then "smug" if I worked there. Give the people in the front the benefit of (your) doubt, they do it for you, EVERY time you walk in their door. All i got to say about this place is, they saved me in more ways then just with a little  $, They are truly invested in my life now (literally) as I feel I am in theirs (literally) I LOVE THEM ALL (For the most part)
 Give them a chance or better yet, dont! They won't go broke, trust me😉

These guys have always been helpful and willing to answer my questions.  Their prices are reasonable and in line with major Internet dealers and Ebay.  They've even beat other dealers on occasion.   Maybe the smugness some of the other reviewers are complaining about comes from their reactions to people who don't bother to do basic research on the items they're trying to buy or sell, in which case you're just wasting their time.

This place isn't for you. Rude arrogant and over priced. Staff have no manners and lead by a half pint who thinks he's superior and Mr know it all. If you want a friendly place to spend your hard earned money and enjoy the hunt as well as the collecting, find another place. If this place was the last coin shop on earth I would quit collecting.
