Frankly, we were a little leary of using PODS after reading some of the other reviews of the Tucson location.  However, it is now several months later, and I am compelled to find a place to leave my own review.  
     Every step of our interaction with PODS was flawless!  Drivers arrived on time, were prompt, courteous, helpful and professional, put the POD right where we needed it.  Charges were exactly as quoted on their website.  Our belongings suffered no damage whatsoever!  
     One especially nice thing about loading a pod is that its floor level is about 4 inches off the ground, awesome if you're moving appliances or using a handtruck, no ramp needed.  Would definitely recommend to anyone making a move of any distance.  
     SPECIAL THANKS to the employees at the TUCSON OFFICE for making our move so easy.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.   So my POD filled with the contents of my home got delivered today.  Unfortunately, the POD door is now broken.  While I can open the door, I can no longer close and lock it - pretty important don't you think?  PODS sent someone out to look at it but apparently they are unable to fix the door onsite.  They were finally able to force the door close and lock it but I was unable to do the same.  I'm not a 250lb guy and I'm simply not strong enough.   It's clear something happened to the door in transit because I was able to close and lock it myself previously.  

I called customer service again and they had 2 suggestions: 
1.  Live with it.  Apparently, being able to secure the contents is not important to them.
2.  They would bring an empty POD out to replace it but I would be responsible for bearing the cost of unloading the original POD and reloading it into a new POD.   Certainly inconveniencing the customer and causing them to incur more expenses due their equipment malfunction make perfect sense doesn't it?

Bottom line, their equipment is broken and they put all the blame and responsibility on to the customer to deal with it.  Unbelievable.   Supposedly, a supervisor is looking into other options and will call me back.  I'm not holding my breath.

Contrary to their selling points, I do not have ready access to my belongings, my contents are not secure and I have zero control over the situation.  

This is completely unacceptable.

The pods were originally delivered and picked up from our home about 2 hours south of Tucson for the normal fee. We then had to change the delivery from the Tucson area to about an hour and a half north. We expected to have to pay extra to change the location, but they want to charge us almost $1800 for the two pods. We're going to have to rent a U-Haul, load the items in the 110+ degree summer heat, and transport the items ourselves, just because of PODS' poor organizational structure. So much for "convenience".

The corporate office for PODS is fantastic, responsive and honest.  Regrettably the local franchise controls delivery.  The Tucson franchise, governed out of Phoenix, was unwilling to leave the pod, where agreed upon, but wanted to leave it unsecured in the street.  Dillon, the driver was rude. Tommy the local manager would not take my call in an attempt to resolve the concern. I am still waiting to hear from Ben, the district manager, who promised to call within 24 hours. It has been 2 weeks.  The good news, the local competition is responsive, trustworthy and saved me a lot of money!!!! If you need reliable, secure portable storage in Tucson, AZ you will not want to use PODS.

Call 1800PACKRAT . PODS  is completely incompetent and will  not deliver and not apologize for it. 

Are used pack rat when I moved from California toTexas and it was a breeze. When I inquired about moving from Texas to Arizona I learned that packrat did not have a facility in Tucson to store my container. So I went with pods even though it would cost me more in the long run because of they're Tucson storage facility.  I specifically said this to the agent speaking with me. Needless to say my container never left Dallas. So when I called to have my container delivered to my new home in Tucson it was not available because it was in Texas. 

And I said you should call one 800 packrat yet?

So while I'm on the phone with the customer service agent clearly upset I asked to speak to her supervisor and her supervisor tries to tell me I did not give them enough time to schedule things out. So 20 days was not enough time to schedule things correctly?  They say they record the conversations I hope someone actually listens to them. But she acted like it was my problem not hers.  

Call 1800PACKRAT

 So now I paid about an extra $600 for no reason. And I'm at about $500 in extra hotel room fees because of their incompetence. And today is my day of delivery. No phone call no notification in my container has still not arrived. I called customer service and they have assured me it will arrive .  Just got off the phone with the great agent who was kind enough to call the facility for me. I facility has told her that they are closed today. Imagine that am I surprised no. 

So please make sure you go with one 800 packrat and save yourself the headache. I wish I had they were so much better to deal with it was A seamless move. PODs is a nightmare.  

Yes please I hope someone reads this and except my name because this is all true. 

An additional $1300 later still no container and a company that doesn't give a 1800PACKRAT's ass.
