City of Owasso/Owasso Police Department Commenting Policy

The City of Owasso administers City and departmental Facebook pages as a limited public forum to facilitate the exchange of information with the public at large. To promote such exchange, the City encourages and welcomes postings and comments about issues related to the City of Owasso, and relevant to postings on our pages. With that said, however, the City reserves the right to regulate the content of, and where necessary delete completely, any objectionable entry that appears on its Facebook pages. The City is responsible for monitoring all postings to its Facebook page and may take appropriate action whenever necessary, and at its sole discretion, to protect other fan page visitors from inappropriate or otherwise harmful information and links.

The City reserves the right to remove any comments that are inappropriate or offensive, including, for example, comments that:

• defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or violate the legal rights of others
• include hatred, slander, threats, obscenity, violence, vulgarity or sexual content
• spam, advertise or solicit commerce or promote or encourage illegal activity
• promote, foster or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, national origin, gender or sex, sexual orientation, or disability
• have personal information about another person or that violate a person’s privacy
• include copyrighted material that belongs to another person or entity
• contain links to inappropriate web sites
• contain confidential information or information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or any member of the City of Owasso
